YOURRYONG LCR-TC2

YOURRYONG LCR-TC2 Transistor Tester User Manual

Model: LCR-TC2

1. Introduction

The YOURRYONG LCR-TC2 is a multi-function transistor tester designed for efficient detection and analysis of various electronic components. Featuring a full-color screen, it provides clear and detailed information about transistors, resistors, capacitors, inductors, diodes, and more. This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and effective use of your LCR-TC2 device.

2. Safety Information

  • Always ensure that capacitors are fully discharged before connecting them to the tester. Failure to do so can damage the device and pose a safety risk.
  • Do not operate the device with wet hands or in damp environments.
  • Avoid placing the device in high locations where it could fall and sustain damage.
  • Use only the specified power source (battery powered) and charging methods.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the device. Refer servicing to qualified personnel.

5. Setup and Charging

5.1 Initial Charging

The LCR-TC2 is powered by an internal rechargeable battery. Before first use, or if the battery is low, connect the device to a standard USB power adapter (not included) using a Micro USB cable (not included). The charging indicator on the screen will show the charging status. Once fully charged, disconnect the cable.

5.2 Powering On/Off

The device typically powers on automatically when a component is inserted and the 'Start' button is pressed, or when the 'Start' button is pressed without a component. It will automatically power off after a period of inactivity to conserve battery life.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Basic Component Testing

The LCR-TC2 can test a wide range of components. Follow these steps for general testing:

  1. Prepare the Component: Ensure the component leads are clean and straight. For capacitors, ensure they are fully discharged before connecting.
  2. Connect the Component:
    • Using the ZIF Socket: Lift the lever of the ZIF socket, insert the component leads into the designated holes (typically 1, 2, and 3), and then lower the lever to secure the component.
    • Using Test Clips: Connect the test clips to the component leads and then connect the other end of the clips to the corresponding test points (1, 2, 3) on the device.
  3. Initiate Test: Press the 'Start' button. The device will automatically detect the component type and measure its parameters.
  4. Read Results: The full-color screen will display the component type, pinout configuration, and measured values (e.g., resistance, capacitance, inductance, transistor gain).

6.2 IR Decoder Function

The LCR-TC2 includes an IR (Infrared) decoder function. To use it, point an infrared remote control towards the IR sensor on the device and press a button on the remote. The tester will attempt to decode and display the infrared signal data on the screen.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the LCR-TC2 in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Care: If the device will not be used for an extended period, ensure the battery is partially charged (around 50%) before storage to prolong its lifespan. Avoid fully discharging the battery for long periods.

8. Troubleshooting

  • No Display / Device Not Turning On:
    • Check if the battery is charged. Connect the device to a USB power source for charging.
    • Ensure the 'Start' button is pressed firmly.
  • Incorrect or Erratic Readings:
    • Ensure the component leads are clean and making good contact with the ZIF socket or test clips.
    • Verify that capacitors are fully discharged before testing.
    • Test a known good component to verify tester functionality.
  • Component Not Detected:
    • Ensure the component is correctly inserted into the ZIF socket or connected via test clips to pins 1, 2, and 3.
    • The component might be faulty or outside the measurable range of the tester.
