Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the proper setup, operation, and maintenance of your Nautica Men's Stainless Steel Bracelet and Black Silicone Strap Watch, Model NAPNSS405. Please read these instructions carefully to ensure optimal performance and longevity of your timepiece.

Setup

1. Unboxing and Initial Inspection

Carefully remove the watch and its accessories from the packaging. Inspect the watch for any visible damage. The package includes the watch with a stainless steel bracelet, an additional black silicone strap, and a strap changing tool.

2. Attaching/Changing Straps

Your watch comes with two interchangeable straps. To change the strap:

1. Locate the spring bars connecting the current strap to the watch lugs.
2. Use the provided strap changing tool to depress the spring bar, releasing one end from the lug hole.
3. Carefully remove the strap.
4. To attach a new strap, insert one end of the spring bar into a lug hole.
5. Depress the other end of the spring bar with the tool and guide it into the opposite lug hole. Ensure both ends are securely seated.

3. Setting the Time

1. Pull the crown (B) out to position 2. The second hand will stop.
2. Turn the crown to set the hour and minute hands to the desired time. Ensure the AM/PM is correctly set if your watch has a 24-hour indicator or date changes at midnight.
3. Push the crown back to position 1. The second hand will resume movement.

4. Setting the Date

(Note: This model features a date display.)

1. Pull the crown (B) out to position 1.
2. Turn the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise (depending on the movement) to set the date. Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this can interfere with the automatic date change mechanism.
3. Push the crown back to the normal operating position.

1. Basic Timekeeping

Your Nautica watch is a quartz movement timepiece, providing accurate timekeeping. Once the time is set, it will continue to run until the battery requires replacement.

2. Chronograph Function

This watch features a chronograph (stopwatch) function. The pushers (A and C) on the side of the case control the chronograph.

• Start/Stop: Press pusher (A) to start the chronograph. Press (A) again to stop it.
• Reset: While the chronograph is stopped, press pusher (C) to reset all chronograph hands to their zero positions.

3. Water Resistance (100 Metres / 330 Feet)

Your watch is water resistant to 100 meters (10 ATM). This means it is suitable for swimming, snorkeling, and showering. It is not suitable for scuba diving or high-impact water sports. Do not operate the crown or pushers while the watch is wet or submerged, as this can compromise the water resistance.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

To maintain the appearance of your watch:

• Wipe the case and crystal with a soft, dry cloth.
• For stainless steel bracelets, use a soft brush and mild soapy water to clean, then rinse thoroughly with fresh water and dry completely.
• For silicone straps, wash with mild soap and water, then rinse and dry.
• Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

2. Battery Replacement

The watch is powered by a quartz battery. When the watch stops or the second hand begins to jump erratically (if applicable), the battery may need replacement. It is recommended to have the battery replaced by a qualified watch technician to ensure proper sealing and maintain water resistance.

3. Water Resistance Check

To maintain the water resistance rating, it is advisable to have your watch's gaskets checked and replaced by a professional watch service center every 2-3 years, or after any impact or opening of the case back.

4. Storage

When not wearing your watch, store it in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. The original case is ideal for storage.

Troubleshooting

• Watch Not Running:

  Ensure the crown is fully pushed in to the normal operating position. If the watch still does not run, the battery may need replacement. Consult a professional watch technician.
• Incorrect Time/Date:

  Refer to the "Setting the Time" and "Setting the Date" sections in this manual. If the issue persists, the movement may require servicing.

• Chronograph Hands Not Resetting to Zero:

  If the chronograph hands do not return to their zero positions after pressing the reset pusher (C), the chronograph may need calibration. This typically requires professional adjustment.

• Condensation Under Crystal:

  If condensation appears under the crystal, it indicates a breach in the watch's water resistance. Immediately take the watch to a qualified service center to prevent further damage to the movement.
