5. Operating Instructions

Before operating, ensure you have read and understood all safety information.

  1. Starting the Tiller: To start the tiller, first press the safety lock button, then squeeze the trigger switch. The tines will begin to rotate.
  2. Tilling Depth: The tiller can cultivate up to 8.7 inches deep. For deeper tilling, make multiple passes, gradually increasing the depth with each pass.
  3. Tilling Width: The tiller has a working width of 14 inches. Overlap passes slightly to ensure complete coverage of the area.
  4. Movement: Allow the tiller to pull itself forward. For stubborn areas or deeper tilling, you may need to pull the tiller back towards you slightly to allow the tines to dig in more effectively.
  5. Stopping the Tiller: Release the trigger switch to stop the tines. Always unplug the tiller from the power source when not in use or before leaving it unattended.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your tiller:

  • Cleaning: After each use, unplug the tiller and clean off any soil, debris, or plant matter from the tines and motor housing. Use a damp cloth; do not spray water directly onto the motor.
  • Tine Inspection: Periodically inspect the tines for wear, damage, or bending. Replace worn or damaged tines promptly to maintain tilling efficiency and safety.
  • Cord Inspection: Check the power cord and extension cord for any cuts, fraying, or damage before each use. Do not use if damaged.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the tiller in a dry, well-ventilated area. The foldable handles allow for compact storage.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your tiller, try these common troubleshooting steps:

  • Tiller Does Not Start:
    • Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet and the extension cord is properly connected.
    • Verify that the safety lock button is pressed before squeezing the trigger switch.
    • Check the circuit breaker or fuse for the outlet.
  • Tines Not Rotating Properly:
    • Unplug the tiller and inspect the tines for any entangled debris (e.g., roots, weeds, string). Clear any obstructions.
    • Check for excessive soil buildup around the tines or gear box that might be impeding rotation.
  • Excessive Vibration or Noise:
    • Unplug the tiller and inspect the tines for damage or imbalance.
    • Ensure all handle connections are securely tightened.

If problems persist after attempting these steps, please contact customer support.
