Setup and Installation

Mounting the Grow Light

  1. Identify Mounting Location: Choose a suitable location above your plants, ensuring adequate clearance and a stable mounting surface.
  2. Install Hook Bolts: Mark two points on the ceiling or shelf where the hanging cables will attach. Drill pilot holes if necessary, then insert plastic anchors (E) and screw in the hook bolts (D).
  3. Attach Hanging Cables: Connect the hanging cables (C) to the hook bolts (D) and to the attachment points on the LED Grow Light (A). Adjust the cable length to achieve the desired height above your plants.
  4. Secure Wiring (Optional): Use the provided zip tie (F) to manage excess cable or secure the power cord.

Linking Multiple Units (Daisy Chain)

The BoostGro LED Grow Light features a modular design, allowing you to link up to 4 units per single power circuit. This can be done in two configurations: side-by-side or end-to-end.

  1. Side-by-Side Connection: Use the side-by-side connectors (G) to join two light fixtures horizontally. Ensure a secure connection.
  2. End-to-End Connection: Use the end-to-end connector (H) or the connection cord (I) to link fixtures linearly. The connection cord (I) provides flexibility for spacing between units.
  3. Power Connection: Connect the 5 FT power cord (B) to the first light fixture in the chain. Ensure all connections are firm before plugging into a power outlet.

Operating Instructions

  1. Connect to Power: After installation, plug the 5 FT power cord into a standard 120V AC outlet.
  2. Turn On/Off: The light features a simple on/off switch located on the fixture. Press the switch to turn the light on or off.
  3. Optimal Distance: Position the grow light at an appropriate distance from your plants. Generally, for seedlings and young plants, a distance of 12-18 inches is recommended. For mature plants, this distance can be adjusted based on plant response and light intensity needs.
  4. Lighting Schedule: Most plants benefit from a consistent light cycle. A common schedule is 12-16 hours of light per day, followed by a dark period. Adjust according to specific plant requirements.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Ensure the light is unplugged before cleaning. Gently wipe the fixture with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and debris. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
  • Inspection: Periodically inspect the power cord, hanging cables, and connectors for any signs of wear or damage. Replace any damaged components immediately.
  • Storage: If storing the grow light for an extended period, disconnect it from power, clean it, and store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Light does not turn on.No power to the outlet; loose power connection; faulty switch.Check if the outlet is working; ensure the power cord is securely plugged in; verify the on/off switch is in the "on" position.
Light flickers or dims.Loose connection; power fluctuation; damaged fixture.Check all connections, especially between linked units; try plugging into a different outlet; if issues persist, contact customer support.
Plants are not growing well.Incorrect light distance; improper lighting schedule; other environmental factors.Adjust the light height (typically 12-18 inches above plants); ensure a consistent light cycle (e.g., 12-16 hours on, 8-12 hours off); check other factors like water, nutrients, and temperature.
Linked units are not working.Loose connection between units; exceeding maximum linked units (4).Ensure all side-by-side and end-to-end connectors are firmly seated; verify that no more than 4 units are linked to a single power circuit.
