5. Setup
Follow these steps to correctly set up your amplifier board:

Figure 5.1: Connection diagram for the XH-M567 TPA3116D2 amplifier board, illustrating power input, audio input, and control labels.
- Power Supply Connection:
Connect a DC power supply (12V-24V) to the 'Input DC 12V-24V' terminals. Ensure correct polarity: '+' to positive, '-' to negative. Refer to Figure 5.1 for the location. - Audio Input Connection:
Connect your audio source (e.g., smartphone, MP3 player, computer) to the 'Right' and 'Left' audio input terminals. The board typically comes with a 3-pin cable for this connection. The 'GND' terminal is for the common ground. Refer to Figure 5.1. - Speaker Output Connection:
Connect your passive speakers to the output terminals. The board has terminals labeled '+ROUT-', '-ROUT-' for the right channel and '+LOUT-', '-LOUT-' for the left channel. Ensure correct polarity for optimal sound quality. Refer to Figure 3.1 for the location of these terminals. - Install Control Knobs:
If not already installed, attach the provided control knobs to the potentiometers for Volume, Treble, and Bass.
6. Operating Instructions
Once the board is correctly wired and powered on, you can operate it using the three control knobs:
- Volume Control: Adjusts the overall output level of the audio. Turn clockwise to increase volume, counter-clockwise to decrease.
- Treble Control: Adjusts the high-frequency response of the audio. Turn clockwise to increase treble, counter-clockwise to decrease.
- Bass Control: Adjusts the low-frequency response of the audio. Turn clockwise to increase bass, counter-clockwise to decrease.
Start with the volume at a low setting before playing audio to avoid sudden loud sounds.
7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to gently clean the board. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
- Dust Removal: Periodically remove dust accumulation from the heatsink and other components using compressed air or a soft brush to ensure proper cooling.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the board in a dry, static-free environment.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect connections for any loose wires or signs of wear.
8. Troubleshooting
- No Sound:
- Check if the power supply is connected correctly and providing the specified voltage.
- Verify all audio input and speaker output connections are secure and correctly polarized.
- Ensure the audio source is playing and its volume is turned up.
- Check the amplifier board's volume knob is not at its minimum setting.
- Distorted Sound:
- Reduce the input volume from your audio source.
- Lower the amplifier board's volume.
- Check speaker impedance compatibility.
- Ensure power supply is stable and sufficient.
- Overheating:
- Ensure adequate ventilation around the board.
- Reduce the output volume or check for short circuits in speaker wiring.
