4.2. Type A: Plug & Play (Ballast Compatible)

  1. Turn off power to the fixture at the circuit breaker.
  2. Remove existing fluorescent tubes from the fixture.
  3. Verify your existing electronic ballast is compatible with these LED tubes. Refer to the 'Compatible Ballast List' section or consult the manufacturer's website.
  4. Insert the GoToLed Light T8 LED tube into the existing lamp holders (tombstones). Ensure a secure fit.
  5. Restore power and test the light.

4.3. Type B: Ballast Bypass (Direct Wire)

This method requires removing or bypassing the existing ballast. It is recommended to consult a qualified electrician if you are not experienced with electrical wiring.

  1. Turn off power to the fixture at the circuit breaker.
  2. Remove existing fluorescent tubes and the ballast from the fixture.
  3. For Single-End Connection: Wire the live (L) and neutral (N) wires directly to the shunted or non-shunted lamp holder on one end of the fixture. The other end of the fixture will not be wired. Ensure to use non-shunted lamp holders if not already present.
  4. For Double-End Connection: Wire the live (L) wire to the lamp holder on one end of the fixture and the neutral (N) wire to the lamp holder on the opposite end. This method works with existing shunted lamp holders/tombstones.
  5. Insert the GoToLed Light T8 LED tube into the wired lamp holders.
  6. Restore power and test the light.

5. Operating Instructions

Your GoToLed Light T8 LED tube features adjustable settings for both color temperature and wattage. These settings are controlled via small switches located on the tube itself.

5.1. Color Temperature (CCT) Selection

Locate the CCT switch on the LED tube. This switch allows you to select one of four color temperatures:

  • 3000K: Soft White, ideal for warm, inviting environments.
  • 4000K: Cool White, suitable for general task lighting.
  • 5000K: Bright White, provides a crisp, energetic light.
  • 6500K: Daylight, mimics natural daylight, excellent for detailed work areas.

Adjust the switch to your desired color temperature before or after installation. The change will be visible immediately upon powering the light.

5.2. Wattage Selection

Locate the wattage switch on the LED tube. This switch allows you to select one of four power settings, which directly affects the brightness (lumens):

  • 12W: 1560 Lumens
  • 15W: 1950 Lumens
  • 18W: 2340 Lumens
  • 22W: 2860 Lumens

Adjust the switch to your preferred wattage. This allows you to optimize energy consumption and light output for your specific application.

6. Maintenance

The GoToLed Light T8 LED Tube Lights require minimal maintenance due to their long lifespan and durable construction.

  • Cleaning: Ensure power is off before cleaning. Use a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth to wipe the surface of the tube. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Inspection: Periodically check for any visible damage or loose connections. If any issues are found, disconnect power and address them safely.
