Introduction

Thank you for choosing the TIMESS Atomic Analog Wall Clock. This clock is designed for precise timekeeping, automatically synchronizing with the WWVB radio signal from the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Fort Collins, Colorado. It features a large, easy-to-read analog dial and an integrated LCD display for additional information such as date, day, and temperature. This manual provides detailed instructions for setup, operation, and maintenance to ensure optimal performance.

Setup

1. Battery Installation

The clock operates on batteries. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the clock. This clock requires one AA carbon battery (not included) for the main clock mechanism and an additional AA alkaline battery (not included) for the LCD display. Ensure correct polarity when inserting batteries.

2. Time Zone Selection

On the back of the clock, locate the time zone switch (P/M/C/E). Slide the switch to select your correct time zone:

• P: Pacific Time
• M: Mountain Time
• C: Central Time
• E: Eastern Time

3. Daylight Saving Time (DST) Switch

Locate the DST switch on the back of the clock. If your region observes Daylight Saving Time, slide the switch to the "ON" position during summer months. If your region does not observe DST, or during winter months, slide it to "OFF".

4. Initial Signal Reception

After installing batteries and setting the time zone and DST, the clock will begin searching for the WWVB radio signal. The second hand will make one revolution and stop at the 12 o'clock position, then the minute/hour hands will move to the 12 o'clock position. This process can take 3 to 12 minutes. For a strong signal, the clock will set itself within 10 minutes. If the signal is weak or not received, the clock will search for the signal on the odd hours (1 AM, 3 AM, 5 AM, etc.) every 2 hours until a signal is acquired.

For best reception, place the clock near a window and away from electronic devices that may cause interference. Avoid placing it near large metal objects.

5. Mounting

Once the time is set, you can hang the clock on a wall using the integrated hanging slot on the back. Ensure it is securely mounted.

Operating Instructions

Automatic Time Setting

The TIMESS Atomic Analog Wall Clock automatically receives the WWVB radio signal to ensure precise timekeeping. Once set up, you generally do not need to manually adjust the time, including for Daylight Saving Time changes (if the DST switch is correctly set).

LCD Display Functions

The integrated LCD display shows the month, date, day of the week, and temperature. You can switch between different display modes and temperature units.

• Switching between Time and Calendar Display: Use the "Down" button on the back of the clock to toggle the LCD display between showing the current time and the calendar (month, date, day).
• Switching between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C): Use the "Up" button on the back of the clock to switch the temperature unit displayed on the LCD between Fahrenheit and Celsius.

Maintenance

• Battery Replacement: Replace batteries annually or when the clock hands stop moving or the LCD display fades. Use a new AA carbon battery for the clock mechanism and a new AA alkaline battery for the LCD display.
• Cleaning: Wipe the clock with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or chemicals, as they may damage the finish or the glass panel.
• Placement: Avoid exposing the clock to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, or high humidity, which can affect its accuracy and lifespan.

Troubleshooting

Clock Not Setting Automatically or Incorrect Time

• Check Battery: Ensure fresh batteries are installed with correct polarity.
• Time Zone Setting: Verify the time zone switch on the back of the clock is set to your correct region (P, M, C, or E).
• DST Setting: Confirm the DST switch is in the appropriate ON/OFF position for your current season and region.
• Signal Reception: The clock needs to receive the WWVB signal. This can take 3-12 minutes initially, or longer in areas with weak signals. Try relocating the clock near a window, away from electronic interference (TVs, computers, microwaves) or large metal structures.
• Manual Reset: If the clock still displays incorrect time after an extended period (e.g., 24 hours), press the "RESET" button on the back of the clock. This will force the clock to re-initiate the signal search.

LCD Display Not Working or Incorrect Date/Temperature

• Check LCD Battery: Ensure the separate AA alkaline battery for the LCD display is fresh and correctly installed.
• Manual Date/Time Setting for LCD: If the analog clock is correct but the LCD date/day is not, use the "SET", "UP", and "DOWN" buttons on the back of the clock to manually adjust the year, month, and day.
• Temperature Accuracy: The temperature displayed is for the immediate vicinity of the clock. Ensure the clock is not in direct sunlight or near heat sources that could skew readings.
