Operating Instructions

Modular Cooking System

The Pro Series grill offers a unique modular cooking system, allowing for quick transitions between cooking methods:

  • Gas Grilling: Utilize the porcelain-coated cast-iron grates for traditional grilling. The Amplifire cooking system ensures even heat distribution and reduces flare-ups.
  • Griddling: Easily replace a section of the grates with the heavy-duty, 328-square-inch cold rolled steel griddle surface. Ideal for breakfast foods, stir-fries, and other griddle-cooked items. The griddle features a rear slot for excess grease.
  • Charcoal Grilling: For an authentic charcoal flavor, a patented Gas2Coal® charcoal tray (sold separately) can be placed over the burners and ignited.

Gas Grill Operation

The grill is powered by liquid propane gas and can reach up to 500°F in under 10 minutes, maintaining even heat across the cooking surface. The easy-to-clean cast-iron grates are porcelain-coated to resist rust and help achieve desirable grill marks.

Side Shelf and Burner

An oversized side shelf offers ample space for plates, tools, sauces, and rubs. Additionally, a dedicated side burner is integrated for preparing side dishes or sauces while grilling.

Ignition

The grill features an electronic ignition system for quick and reliable startup of the main burners and side burner.

Maintenance

Cleaning

Regular cleaning of your grill is essential for optimal performance and longevity. The porcelain-coated cast-iron grates are designed for easy cleaning. For best results, clean the grates after each use once they have cooled. The griddle surface should also be cleaned thoroughly after each use, following manufacturer recommendations for cold rolled steel.

Protection

To protect your grill from the elements, consider using a grill cover. This will help preserve the finish and components of your Char-Broil Pro Series grill.
