1. Introduction
Welcome to the user manual for your new Airoh Commander 2 Helmet. This helmet is engineered for adventure and motorcycle touring enthusiasts, offering versatility and advanced safety features. The Commander 2 can be configured in three different versions to suit various riding conditions and preferences. 2. Safety Information
Your safety is paramount. The Airoh Commander 2 Helmet incorporates advanced safety systems to protect you during your rides.
- ECE 22 06 Approved: This helmet meets the stringent ECE 22 06 safety standards, ensuring a high level of protection.
- ASN System: The Airoh Sliding Net (ASN) system is designed to absorb impact energy and reduce rotational forces transmitted to the head.
- AEFR System: The Airoh Emergency Fast Release (AEFR) system allows for quick and safe removal of cheek pads in case of an emergency, facilitating helmet removal by trained personnel.
- Proper Fit: Always ensure your helmet fits snugly and securely. A helmet that is too loose may not provide adequate protection. Refer to the sizing guide for proper fitment.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect your helmet for any signs of damage, such as cracks, dents, or worn straps. Do not use a damaged helmet.
- Cleaning: Use only recommended cleaning agents and methods to avoid damaging the helmet's materials and protective coatings.

Key Features:
- Shell Construction: Available in Full Carbon 6K or Composite Carbon, offering lightweight strength and protection.
- Ventilation System: Sophisticated system engineered in a wind tunnel for optimal airflow and comfort, featuring 5 vents.
- Extra Wide Vision Visor: Provides an expansive field of view, enhancing situational awareness.
- A3S (Airoh Automatic Antifog System): Integrated system to prevent visor fogging.
- Visor Locking System: Ensures the visor remains securely closed during rides.
- Pinlock® 120 XLT Max Vision Lens: Included for superior anti-fog performance in various conditions.
- Versatile Configuration: Can be used in three different versions (e.g., with peak and visor, without peak, without visor) to adapt to different riding styles and environments.
4. Setup
Before your first ride, ensure the helmet is properly set up and fitted.
- Sizing and Fit: Choose the correct helmet size for a snug, comfortable fit. The helmet should not move freely on your head when shaken. Airoh offers three different shell sizes to optimize fit.
- Chinstrap Adjustment: Secure the buckle closure firmly under your chin. The strap should be tight enough that you cannot pull the helmet off your head when the strap is fastened.
- Visor Installation (if removed): Align the visor with the pivot points on the helmet and snap it into place. Ensure it operates smoothly and locks securely.
- Pinlock Lens Installation: If not pre-installed, carefully fit the Pinlock 120 XLT Max Vision lens onto the visor's pins, ensuring a tight seal to activate its anti-fog properties.
- Configuration Adjustment: If you wish to change the helmet's configuration (e.g., remove the peak for street use or the visor for off-road goggle use), refer to the specific instructions provided with your helmet for safe modification.
5. Operating the Helmet
Understanding how to operate the helmet's features will enhance your riding comfort and safety.
- Ventilation System: The helmet features multiple vents (5 in total) designed for optimal airflow. Locate the intake vents (typically on the chin bar and forehead) and exhaust vents (at the rear). Open or close these vents as needed to regulate internal temperature and airflow.
- Visor Operation: The visor can be opened and closed manually. It features a locking mechanism to keep it securely shut at high speeds or during impacts. To open, disengage the lock (if present) and lift the visor. To close, pull it down until it clicks into the locked position.
- A3S Antifog System: The A3S system works automatically to prevent fogging. Ensure your Pinlock lens is correctly installed for maximum effectiveness.
- Chinstrap Release: To remove the helmet, release the buckle closure. Ensure the strap is fully disengaged before attempting to take off the helmet.
6. Maintenance
Proper maintenance will extend the life of your Airoh Commander 2 Helmet and ensure its continued performance.
Cleaning:
- Shell: Clean the helmet's outer shell with a soft cloth and mild soap and water. Avoid harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the finish and materials.
- Visor: Clean the visor with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap. For the Pinlock lens, follow its specific cleaning instructions, usually just warm water and a soft cloth, avoiding rubbing the inner surface.
- Interior Padding: The interior padding is often removable for washing. Hand wash with mild soap and water, or follow specific care instructions if machine washable. Allow to air dry completely before reinserting.
- Vents: Use a soft brush or compressed air to clear any debris from the ventilation openings.
Storage:
Store your helmet in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use a helmet bag to protect it from dust and scratches. Do not store heavy objects on top of the helmet.
7. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your helmet.
- Visor Fogging: Ensure the Pinlock 120 XLT Max Vision lens is correctly installed and sealed against the visor. If fogging persists, check for proper ventilation or consider using an anti-fog spray on the outer visor surface (avoiding the Pinlock).
- Excessive Noise: Check that the visor is fully closed and locked. Ensure all vents are properly closed if you desire less airflow. A proper fit is crucial for minimizing wind noise.
- Loose Fit: If the helmet feels loose over time, check if the interior padding needs to be re-seated or replaced. Ensure the chinstrap is adjusted correctly.
- Stuck Vents/Mechanisms: Clean any dirt or debris from the vent mechanisms or visor pivots. Apply a silicone-based lubricant sparingly if necessary, avoiding contact with the visor surface.
