3. Setup and Basic Operation

This section guides you through the initial setup and basic functions of your SKMEI 1796 watch.

3.1 Setting Time and Date

1. From the normal time display, press the MODE button three times to enter Time Setting Mode. The seconds digits will flash.
2. Press the RESET button to cycle through the setting items: Seconds → Hour → Minute → Month → Date → Day of Week.
3. While an item is flashing, press the START button to adjust its value.
4. Once all settings are complete, press the MODE button to return to normal time display.

3.2 Setting the Alarm

1. From the normal time display, press the MODE button twice to enter Alarm Setting Mode. The hour digits will flash.
2. Press the RESET button to switch between setting the Hour and Minute.
3. While the desired item is flashing, press the START button to adjust its value.
4. To activate/deactivate the alarm, press the START button while in normal time display and then press the RESET button. An alarm icon will appear/disappear.
5. Press the MODE button to return to normal time display.

3.3 Using the Stopwatch

1. From the normal time display, press the MODE button once to enter Stopwatch Mode. The display will show '00:00:00'.
2. Press the START button to begin timing.
3. Press the START button again to pause timing.
4. Press the RESET button to reset the stopwatch to '00:00:00'.
5. Press the MODE button to return to normal time display.

3.4 Activating the LED Backlight

Press the LIGHT button at any time to illuminate the display for a few seconds.

4. Maintenance

Proper care will ensure the longevity and performance of your SKMEI 1796 watch.

4.1 Water Resistance (30M)

Your watch is water resistant up to 30 meters (3 ATM). This means it is suitable for daily use, splashes, and brief immersion in water. It is not recommended for swimming, diving, or prolonged water activities. Do not operate buttons while the watch is wet or submerged.

4.2 Cleaning

Wipe the watch case and strap regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by drying. Avoid using chemical cleaners, which can damage the watch's finish or strap material.

4.3 Battery Replacement

The watch uses 1 CR123A battery. When the display becomes dim or functions become erratic, it may be time to replace the battery. It is recommended to have battery replacement performed by a qualified watch technician to ensure water resistance is maintained.

5. Troubleshooting
