3. Getting Started (Setup)

The JXJHOVV Smart Clock connects to your home WiFi network for automatic time synchronization and app control. Follow these steps for initial setup:

3.1 Powering the Clock

1. Insert two AA batteries into the battery compartment on the back of the clock. Ensure correct polarity.
2. Connect the small barrel jack end of the USB power cable to the DC IN port on the clock.
3. Plug the USB-A end of the cable into a 5V/1A USB power adapter (not included) and then into a wall outlet. The clock display will light up.

3.2 Download the Smart Life App

The clock uses the Smart Life or Tuya Smart app for configuration and advanced features.

1. Scan the QR code below with your smartphone or search for "Smart Life" in your device's app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store).

3. Install and open the app, then register or log in to your account.

3.3 Prepare for WiFi Connection (2.4GHz Requirement)

The clock only supports 2.4GHz WiFi networks. Before pairing, ensure your smartphone is connected to your home's 2.4GHz WiFi network.

• Check your WiFi settings: Most modern routers broadcast both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks. Some routers use separate names (e.g., "MyWiFi" and "MyWiFi_5G"), while others combine them under one name and automatically select the band.
• If your phone connects to 5GHz: If your router combines networks and your phone defaults to 5GHz, you may need to temporarily disable the 5GHz band in your router settings during the pairing process. Consult your router's manual or internet service provider for instructions on how to access and modify router settings.

3.4 Pair the Clock with the App

1. Ensure your phone's Bluetooth is enabled.
2. Open the Smart Life app. On the home screen, tap the "+" icon in the upper right corner to add a device.
3. On the clock, press and hold the designated pairing button (refer to Figure 2 for button location, often one of the side buttons) for approximately 3 seconds until you hear two beeps, indicating it's in pairing mode.
4. The app should automatically discover the clock (e.g., "JXJHOVV-2868"). Tap "Add" or select the device.
5. Follow the on-screen prompts to enter your 2.4GHz WiFi network name (SSID) and password. The app will then transmit this information to the clock via Bluetooth.
6. Once successfully paired, the clock's WiFi indicator will stabilize, and the app will confirm the addition.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Automatic Time Synchronization

Once connected to WiFi, the clock automatically synchronizes its time with network time servers, ensuring accuracy. It also adjusts for Daylight Saving Time (DST) based on your configured time zone in the app.

4.2 Adjusting Display Brightness

The clock offers multiple brightness levels. To adjust, gently touch the Snooze/Light button located on the top edge of the clock. Each touch cycles through the available brightness settings.

4.3 Setting Alarms

The clock supports two independent alarms, which are configured and managed exclusively through the Smart Life app.

1. Open the Smart Life app and select your JXJHOVV Smart Clock.
2. Navigate to the alarm settings section within the device interface.
3. Set the desired alarm time, recurrence (e.g., weekdays, daily), and enable/disable the alarm.
4. You can also set temperature and humidity alarms via the app, which will send notifications to your phone if thresholds are exceeded.

4.4 Viewing Temperature and Humidity

The clock continuously displays the indoor temperature and humidity. You can also view historical data and set alerts for these metrics through the Smart Life app.

4.5 Snooze Function

When an alarm sounds, touch the Snooze/Light button on the top of the clock to activate the snooze function. The alarm will temporarily pause and sound again after a set interval (configurable in the app).

5. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the clock's display and casing. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• Placement: Place the clock on a stable surface or mount it securely on a wall. Avoid direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, or high humidity environments.

• Clock not powering on:
  - Ensure the USB power cable is securely connected to both the clock and a functional 5V/1A USB power adapter.
  - Verify the power adapter is plugged into a live electrical outlet.
• WiFi connection failure:
  - Confirm your home WiFi network is 2.4GHz. The clock does not support 5GHz networks.
  - During pairing, ensure your smartphone is also connected to the 2.4GHz WiFi band.
  - If your router combines 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands under one name, temporarily disable the 5GHz band in your router settings during pairing.
  - Ensure your WiFi password is entered correctly in the Smart Life app.

• Display too dim or too bright:
  - Touch the Snooze/Light button on the top of the clock to cycle through brightness levels.
• Alarms not sounding:
  - Check alarm settings in the Smart Life app to ensure they are enabled and set to the correct times.
  - Verify the clock's volume settings (if applicable, usually controlled via app).
• Temperature/Humidity readings seem inaccurate:
  - Ensure the clock is placed in an area with good air circulation, away from direct heat sources, vents, or windows that could affect readings.
