4. Setup

Follow these steps to assemble your TelesPro Extendable Manual Pole Saw:

  1. Attach the Saw Blade to the Handle: The saw blade is typically pre-attached to its handle. Ensure the handle is securely fastened to the blade.
  2. Connect the Saw Attachment to the Pole: The saw attachment features a universal threaded tip. Twist the saw head onto the threaded end of the telescoping pole until it is finger-tight.
  3. Secure the Connection: Use a screwdriver to tighten the small screws located on the saw head where it connects to the pole. This reinforces the connection for unmatched stability during use.

  1. Extend the Pole: To extend the telescoping pole, open the quick-release thumb lever clasps on each section. Carefully pull out the desired section to the required length.
  2. Lock the Pole Sections: Once the desired length is achieved, firmly close the quick-release thumb lever clasps to lock each section in place. Ensure all sections are securely locked before use. The pole features a bi-directional clamping design for secure locking.

5. Operating Instructions

This pole saw can be used in two configurations: as an extendable pole saw for high branches or as a hand-held saw for lower branches and ground work.

5.1 Using as an Extendable Pole Saw

  1. Prepare the Area: Clear the area beneath the branch you intend to cut. Ensure no people, animals, or objects are in the potential fall zone.
  2. Extend the Pole: Adjust the pole to the appropriate length as described in the Setup section, ensuring all sections are securely locked.
  3. Positioning: Stand at a safe distance from the branch, ensuring the pole is stable and you have a clear view of the cutting area. Avoid standing directly under the branch.
  4. Making the Cut: Place the saw blade on the underside of the branch first to make a small relief cut (undercut). This prevents bark stripping when the main cut is made. Then, position the blade on top of the branch, slightly further out from the trunk than your undercut. Use long, steady strokes, pulling the saw towards you. The bi-directional blade cuts on both push and pull strokes.
  5. Control the Fall: As the cut deepens, be prepared for the branch to fall. Step back if necessary.

5.2 Using as a Hand-Held Saw

  1. Detach from Pole: If attached, unscrew the saw attachment from the telescoping pole.
  2. Grip: Hold the saw firmly by its ergonomic handle.
  3. Cutting: For smaller branches or ground-level work, use the saw with a firm grip and apply consistent pressure with long, smooth strokes.

6. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and performance of your TelesPro pole saw.

  • Cleaning: After each use, clean the saw blade and pole sections. Remove any sap, sawdust, or debris. A damp cloth can be used for the pole, and a wire brush for the blade.
  • Lubrication: Apply a light coat of rust-preventative oil to the saw blade after cleaning, especially before long-term storage.
  • Blade Sharpening: The 3-sided taper-ground teeth are designed for sharp cutting. If the blade becomes dull, it can be sharpened by a professional or with appropriate sharpening tools designed for saw blades.
  • Storage: Store the pole saw in a clean, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure the blade is covered with a blade guard (if available) or stored safely to prevent accidental contact.
