5.2 Installation Steps

Follow these steps carefully for proper installation:

  1. Prepare the Door: If replacing an existing lock, remove it. Ensure the door's mortise cutout matches the 5572 20x235 dimensions.
  2. Install the Mortise: Insert the mortise lock body into the door edge. Secure it with screws.
  3. Install Spindles: Insert the square spindle through the mortise.
  4. Connect Front Panel: Route the cable from the front panel through the door. Align the front panel with the spindle and mounting holes.
  5. Connect Rear Panel: Connect the cable from the front panel to the rear panel. Align the rear panel with the spindle and mounting holes.
  6. Secure Panels: Use the provided screws to secure both the front and rear panels to the door, ensuring they are flush and stable.

6. Operating Instructions

The mijob smart lock offers multiple ways to unlock your door:

6.1 Tuya App Setup

  1. Download App: Search for 'Tuya Smart' or 'Smart Life' in your mobile app store (iOS/Android) and download the application.
  2. Register/Login: Create an account or log in if you already have one.
  3. Add Device: In the app, tap '+' to add a new device. Select 'Security & Video Surveillance' > 'Door Lock (Wi-Fi)'.
  4. Pair Lock: Follow the in-app instructions to put the lock into pairing mode (usually by pressing a specific button on the lock or entering a master code). Connect the lock to your Wi-Fi network.

6.2 Fingerprint Management

The lock supports up to 100 fingerprints.

  1. Add Fingerprint: Access the lock's menu (via master password or app). Select 'Add Fingerprint'. Place your finger on the reader multiple times as prompted until registration is complete.
  2. Delete Fingerprint: Access the lock's menu. Select 'Delete Fingerprint' and choose the specific fingerprint or delete all.

6.3 Password Management

The lock supports up to 300 passwords (including fingerprints and cards).

  1. Set Master Password: This is the first password you set and is used to access the lock's programming menu.
  2. Add User Password: Access the lock's menu. Select 'Add Password' and enter a new password (6-10 digits).
  3. Delete User Password: Access the lock's menu. Select 'Delete Password' and choose the specific password or delete all.
  4. Temporary Password: Generate time-limited or dynamic passwords via the Tuya app for guests or service providers.

6.4 Card Management

The lock supports 13.56MHz Mifare cards and phone NFC cards.

  1. Add Card: Access the lock's menu. Select 'Add Card'. Present the RFID card or NFC-enabled phone to the card reader until registered.
  2. Delete Card: Access the lock's menu. Select 'Delete Card' and choose the specific card or delete all.

6.5 Remote Unlock (via Tuya App)

The Tuya app allows for remote unlocking without a gateway.

  1. Initiate Request: From the outside, press '9 + #' on the lock's keypad.
  2. Receive Notification: The Tuya app on your paired smartphone will receive an unlock request notification.
  3. App Unlock: Open the app and confirm the unlock request to remotely open the door.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Battery Replacement

The lock is powered by 4 AA batteries. When the battery level is low, the lock will provide an audible or visual alert. Replace all four batteries simultaneously.

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the rear panel.
  2. Remove the battery cover.
  3. Remove the old batteries and dispose of them responsibly.
  4. Insert new AA alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  5. Replace the battery cover.

Emergency Power: If batteries completely drain, connect a Type-C USB power bank to the emergency power port at the bottom of the front panel to temporarily power the lock and gain access.

7.2 Cleaning

Clean the lock regularly to maintain its appearance and functionality.

  • Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the lock surface.
  • For stubborn marks, use a slightly damp cloth with mild soap, then wipe dry immediately.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish and electronic components.
  • Keep the fingerprint reader and keypad clean and free of debris for optimal performance.
