4. Setup and Installation

The D52-2047 meter is designed for DIN-Rail mounting. Ensure all power is disconnected before beginning installation to prevent electrical shock.

4.1 Mounting

  1. Locate a suitable DIN-rail within your electrical panel or enclosure.
  2. Align the meter's DIN-rail clip with the rail.
  3. Press the meter firmly onto the DIN-rail until it clicks securely into place.

4.2 Wiring Connections

Ensure all connections are tight and secure. Refer to the markings on the meter for correct terminal identification.

  1. Voltage Input (Terminals 1 & 2): Connect the AC voltage source (Line and Neutral) to terminals 1 and 2. The meter supports an AC voltage range of 80.0-300.0V. These terminals also serve as the power supply for the meter.
  2. Current Measurement (Built-in CT): For this "Built-in CT" model, the current transformer is integrated within the meter. The load wire whose current is to be measured must pass directly through the designated current sensing path within the meter. Typically, this means the main load wire (e.g., the Line wire) passes through a specific opening or is connected to specific high-current terminals on the meter itself. Note: Ensure only one phase wire passes through the CT for single-phase measurement. Do not pass both Line and Neutral wires through the same CT, as this will result in a zero current reading.
  3. Once all connections are made, restore power to the circuit.

Warning: Incorrect wiring can damage the meter or cause electrical hazards. If you are unsure about the wiring, consult a qualified electrician.

5. Operating Instructions

Once powered on, the meter will automatically display the measured parameters. The display cycles through various readings or shows them simultaneously depending on the model and configuration.

  • Voltage (V): Displays the measured AC voltage.
  • Current (A): Displays the measured AC current.
  • Active Power (W): Displays the instantaneous active power consumption.
  • Electrical Energy (kWh): Displays the cumulative electrical energy consumed. This value is stored even after power loss.
  • Power Factor (cosφ): Displays the power factor of the load.
  • Cumulative Time (h): Displays the total operating time of the meter.

5.1 Button Function (SAM CK)

The "SAM CK" button (located on the front panel) is typically used for resetting the cumulative electrical energy (kWh) or cycling through display modes, if applicable. Consult the specific model's behavior for exact functionality:

  • Short Press: May cycle through different display screens or parameters.
  • Long Press: May reset the cumulative electrical energy (kWh) or cumulative time (h). Perform this action with caution as it clears historical data.

6. Maintenance

The D52-2047 digital meter requires minimal maintenance.

  • Keep the meter clean by wiping it with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Ensure the operating environment is free from excessive dust, moisture, and corrosive gases.
  • Do not attempt to open the meter casing, as there are no user-serviceable parts inside. Opening the casing may void the warranty.
  • Regularly check wiring connections for tightness and signs of wear.

7. Troubleshooting

If the meter is not functioning as expected, consider the following common issues:

  • No Display:
    • Check if the power supply to terminals 1 and 2 is connected correctly and within the specified voltage range (AC 80.0-300.0V).
    • Ensure the circuit breaker or fuse protecting the meter is not tripped or blown.
  • Incorrect Current Reading:
    • Verify that the load wire passes correctly through the built-in CT.
    • Ensure only one phase wire is passing through the CT.
  • Inaccurate Readings:
    • Confirm that all wiring connections are secure and free from loose contacts.
    • Ensure the meter is operating within its specified environmental conditions.

If problems persist, contact SPABOY customer support or a qualified technician.
