Setup and Assembly

Follow these steps to assemble your BLACK+DECKER Powerseries+ Stick Vacuum.

Operating Instructions

Using as a Stick Vacuum:

1. Plug In: Insert the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet.
2. Power On: Press the power button located on the handle to turn on the vacuum. The LED floor head lights will illuminate.
3. Vacuuming: Guide the vacuum across the desired surface. The powerful suction and brush roll will collect debris.

Converting to Handheld Vacuum:

1. Detach Main Unit: Press the release button to detach the main vacuum unit from the extension wand and floor head.
2. Attach Accessories: Select the appropriate accessory (crevice tool or brush tool) and attach it directly to the handheld unit's nozzle.
3. Targeted Cleaning: Use the handheld unit for cleaning upholstery, stairs, car interiors, or other hard-to-reach areas.

Emptying the Dust Cup:

1. Power Off and Unplug: Ensure the vacuum is turned off and unplugged from the power outlet.
2. Release Dust Cup: Press the dust cup release button and remove the dust cup from the main unit.
3. Empty Contents: Hold the dust cup over a trash receptacle and open the bottom flap to empty debris.

4. Reassemble: Once dry, place the filter back into the dust cup and reattach the dust cup to the vacuum.

Cleaning the Brush Roll:

Periodically check the brush roll for tangled hair or debris that may reduce cleaning effectiveness.

1. Power Off and Unplug: Always ensure the vacuum is off and unplugged.
2. Access Brush Roll: Turn the floor head over. Depending on the model, you may need to use a coin or screwdriver to unlock the brush roll cover.
