Setup Instructions

  1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove all items from the packaging. Untangle the string lights gently to avoid damage.
  2. Assemble Solar Panel: Attach the ground stake to the solar panel. Ensure the connection is secure.
  3. Position Solar Panel: Choose a location for the solar panel that receives direct sunlight for at least 6-8 hours daily. The panel can be staked into the ground or mounted on a wall using appropriate hardware (not included for wall mounting). Adjust the panel's angle for optimal sun exposure. The panel has 180° rotation capability.
  4. Connect String Lights: Locate the waterproof connector on the solar panel's cable and the corresponding connector on the string lights. Align and firmly twist them together until securely connected.
  5. Initial Charge: For first-time use or after prolonged storage, ensure the solar panel is exposed to direct sunlight for a full day (8-12 hours) or charge via the USB-C port on the back of the solar panel for 8 hours. Ensure the USB-C port cover is securely closed when not in use to maintain waterproofing.
  6. Install Light Bulbs: Gently screw each ST38 bulb into its socket along the string. The bulbs are shatterproof plastic.
  7. Hang String Lights: Secure the string lights in your desired pattern. Utilize the small hooks on each bulb socket for easy hanging. Ensure the lights are not excessively strained.

Maintenance

  • Clean Solar Panel: Regularly wipe the solar panel with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, or debris that may hinder charging efficiency.
  • Check Connections: Periodically inspect all connections, especially the solar panel to string light connection, to ensure they remain secure and waterproof.
  • Bulb Replacement: If a bulb stops working, replace it with one of the provided extra bulbs. Gently twist the old bulb out and screw in the new one.
  • Winter Storage: In areas with harsh winters, it is recommended to store the lights indoors to prolong their lifespan. Ensure the solar panel is fully charged before storage.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible Cause & Solution
Lights do not turn on at night.
  • Insufficient Charge: Ensure solar panel receives 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily. Consider USB charging if sunlight is consistently low.
  • Solar Panel Location: Relocate the solar panel to an area free from shadows or artificial light sources at night (e.g., streetlights), which can trigger the light sensor to keep lights off.
  • Switch Off: Verify the power switch on the solar panel is in the 'ON' position.
  • Loose Connection: Check the connection between the solar panel and the string lights.
Lights are dim or only stay on for a short period.
  • Incomplete Charge: Allow more time for the solar panel to charge, especially after cloudy days.
  • Dirty Solar Panel: Clean the solar panel surface to ensure maximum light absorption.
  • Battery Degradation: Over time, rechargeable batteries may lose capacity. If issues persist after extensive use, the internal battery may need replacement (contact support).
Individual bulbs are not working.
  • Loose Bulb: Ensure the bulb is securely screwed into its socket.
  • Damaged Bulb: Replace the non-functioning bulb with one of the provided spare bulbs.
