2. Safety Information

• Always disconnect power before installation or maintenance.
• Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician if you are unsure.
• Do not use with traditional dimmer switches; control is via app or Alexa only.
• Ensure the installation area meets the specified hole diameter and depth requirements.
• This product is designed for indoor use with an IP44 rating, protecting against solid objects larger than 1mm and splashes of water.

5. Installation

These spotlights are designed for recessed installation in plasterboard ceilings. A built-in transformer allows direct connection to a 230V power supply.

5.1 Pre-Installation Checks

• Verify that the power supply is 230V.
• Ensure the ceiling material is suitable for recessed lighting.
• Confirm the required hole diameter is within the Ø95-110mm range.
• Important: Do not connect these spotlights to a traditional dimmer switch. They are dimmable only via the BRmesh APP or Alexa.

5.2 Installation Steps

1. Turn off Power: Before starting, ensure the main power supply to the installation area is switched off at the circuit breaker.
2. Cut Hole: Using a suitable hole saw, cut a circular hole in the plasterboard ceiling with a diameter between 95mm and 110mm.
3. Connect Wiring: Connect the spotlight's power cable to your household 230V wiring. Ensure all connections are secure and insulated according to local electrical codes.
4. Insert Spotlight: Gently push the spring clips on the sides of the spotlight upwards and insert the spotlight into the prepared ceiling hole. The clips will secure the spotlight in place.
5. Restore Power: Once all spotlights are installed, restore power to the circuit.

6. Operation

Your iLC Smart Recessed LED Spotlights can be controlled via the BRmesh APP or Amazon Alexa.

6.1 BRmesh APP Control

The BRmesh APP allows comprehensive control over your spotlights without requiring Wi-Fi or a separate hub.

• No Registration Required: Use the app directly.
• No Wi-Fi/Hub Required: Connects directly via Bluetooth.
• Max Devices: Control up to 100 devices.
• Functions: Dimmable (1%-100%), adjustable color temperature (2700K-6000K, with 100 color temperature options via app), timer function, group control, single light control, scene settings, device sharing, and memory function.

6.2 Alexa Voice Control

To enable Alexa voice control, you will need a compatible Amazon Echo device. Supported devices include Echo Plus (all models), Echo Show (all models), Echo (all models except 1st generation), and Echo Dot (all models except 1st generation).

Pairing with Alexa:

1. Download BRmesh APP: If you haven't already, download the BRmesh APP from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
2. Add Lights to BRmesh: Use the BRmesh APP to add your iLC spotlights.
3. Activate Alexa in BRmesh: Within the BRmesh APP, click on "Activate Alexa". This will put your lights into "Alexa pairing state".
4. Discover Devices with Alexa: Say to your Alexa speaker, "Alexa/Echo, find device."
5. Control: Once discovered, you can use Alexa to control your lights.

Note: Disinstalling the BRmesh app after adding the device to Alexa will not affect Alexa's control.

Common Alexa Voice Commands:

• Discover Devices: "Alexa/Echo, find device."
• Turn On/Off: "Alexa/Echo, turn on/off the first light." (Replace "first light" with your assigned light name).
• Adjust Brightness: "Alexa/Echo, set the first light to 50%." (Use any percentage from 1% to 100%).
• Adjust Color Temperature: "Alexa/Echo, set the first light to warm white." (Options: warm white, soft white, white, daylight white, cool white).

7. Maintenance

These LED spotlights require minimal maintenance.

• Cleaning: Ensure power is off before cleaning. Wipe the surface of the spotlight with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• No User-Serviceable Parts: Do not attempt to open or repair the spotlight. This will void the warranty.
