3. Setup Instructions
3.1 Battery Installation
- Unscrew the bottom cap of the handle.
- Insert two standard C cell batteries into the handle, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Screw the bottom cap back on securely.
3.2 Attaching Heads and Accessories
The Zyrev diagnostic set features convenient quick-release attachments for easy assembly and disassembly.
- To attach the Otoscope or Ophthalmoscope head: Align the head with the top of the handle and push down firmly until it clicks into place.
- To attach speculums to the Otoscope head: Gently twist the desired speculum onto the end of the otoscope head until secure.
- To attach the Nasal Adapter or Illuminator: Align with the handle and twist to secure. Mirrors can be attached to the Illuminator for throat examination.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 General Operation
- Once the desired head (Otoscope or Ophthalmoscope) is attached, twist the ring at the base of the head to turn on the light.
- Adjust the light intensity or focus as needed (if applicable to the specific head).
- After use, twist the ring back to the OFF position to conserve battery life.
4.2 Otoscope Use (Ear Examination)
- Attach an appropriate size ear speculum (reusable or disposable) to the otoscope head.
- Gently insert the speculum into the ear canal while pulling the earlobe up and back (for adults) or down and back (for children) to straighten the canal.
- Look through the viewing lens to examine the ear canal and tympanic membrane. The otoscope provides 3X magnification and LED illumination for clear visualization.

4.3 Ophthalmoscope Use (Eye Examination)
- Attach the ophthalmoscope head to the handle.
- Select the desired aperture using the premium lens correction knob. The improved eye exam attachment includes 5 apertures for varied examination needs.
- Position yourself approximately 15 inches from the patient's eye and direct the light beam towards the pupil to observe the red reflex.
- Gradually move closer to the patient, adjusting the diopter wheel to focus on the retina and optic disc.

4.4 Other Attachments
- Nasal Adapter: Use for examining nasal passages. Adjust to comfortably fit different nostril sizes.
- Illuminator with Mirrors/Tongue Depressor: Attach the illuminator to the handle. Use the mirrors for indirect laryngoscopy or the tongue depressor for oral cavity examination.
