1. Introduction

The ERUM VIAL LEDONE Connected V16 Emergency Beacon is a DGT (Dirección General de Tráfico) homologated emergency signaling device designed to enhance road safety. This beacon replaces traditional emergency triangles and provides automatic geolocation capabilities, communicating your position to traffic authorities in the event of an incident.

This manual provides instructions for the proper installation, operation, and maintenance of your LEDONE V16 Emergency Beacon.

2. Safety and Compliance

This V16 emergency beacon is compliant with mandatory road safety regulations effective from 2026. It integrates a connection system to alert other drivers of your vehicle's position and help prevent accidents.

  • DGT Homologation: The device is officially approved by the DGT, ensuring it meets all required safety standards.
  • Geolocation: Equipped with an anonymous eSIM, the beacon automatically sends your location to the DGT in emergency situations, without additional costs until 2038.
  • Replacement for Emergency Triangles: From 2026, this V16 beacon with geolocator replaces traditional emergency triangles, providing a safer method for signaling incidents from within the vehicle.

4. Installation

4.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the base of the beacon.
  2. Insert the included 9V battery, ensuring correct polarity.
  3. Close the battery compartment securely.

4.2 Mounting the Beacon

The beacon features a magnetic base for quick and secure attachment. For additional security or on non-metallic surfaces, a double-sided adhesive is included.

  1. Ensure the mounting surface (e.g., vehicle roof) is clean and dry.
  2. Place the beacon firmly on the desired location. The magnetic base will secure it.
  3. If using the adhesive, remove the protective film and press the beacon firmly onto the surface.

5. Operation

5.1 Activating the Beacon

To activate the emergency light, slightly rotate the beacon on its base. This mechanism prevents accidental activation and conserves battery life.

5.2 DGT Communication

Upon activation, the beacon automatically sends your vehicle's position in real-time to the DGT platform. This ensures rapid and effective localization in any circumstance, alerting other drivers and emergency services.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Battery Replacement

The beacon uses a standard 9V battery. When the light intensity diminishes or the device fails to activate, replace the battery by following the installation steps in Section 4.1.

Dispose of used batteries according to local regulations.
