2. Safety Information

WARNING: Risk of Electric Shock. Always disconnect power before servicing.

  • Ensure the television is completely unplugged from the power outlet before beginning any installation or repair work.
  • LED backlight replacement requires technical expertise. If you are not comfortable with electronic repairs, seek assistance from a qualified technician.
  • Handle LED strips with care. Avoid bending or applying excessive force, as this can damage the LEDs or circuit board.
  • Wear anti-static gloves to prevent electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage to sensitive electronic components.

4. Setup and Installation

This section outlines the general procedure for replacing LED backlight strips. Specific disassembly steps may vary by TV model.

4.1. Preparation

  1. Gather Tools: You will typically need screwdrivers (Phillips, flathead), plastic prying tools, a multimeter (for testing), and a clean, soft work surface.
  2. Workspace: Prepare a clean, well-lit, and spacious area to work on the television.
  3. Safety First: Ensure the TV is unplugged and has been off for at least 10 minutes to allow capacitors to discharge.

4.2. Disassembly of TV

  1. Carefully place the TV face down on your soft work surface.
  2. Remove the back cover of the TV by unscrewing all retaining screws.
  3. Disconnect all cables and connectors from the main board, power supply board, and T-con board. Take photos to remember connections.
  4. Remove the main board, power supply board, and any other components that obstruct access to the display panel.
  5. Carefully remove the bezel and then the LCD panel. This step is critical and requires extreme caution to avoid damaging the fragile panel. Store the LCD panel safely, face down on a clean, soft surface.
  6. Remove the diffuser sheets and light guide plate to expose the old LED backlight strips.

4.3. Replacing LED Strips

  1. Gently detach the old LED strips from the TV chassis. Note their orientation and connection points.
  2. Install the new LOTOAK LED backlight strips in the exact same positions as the old ones. Ensure proper alignment and secure fitting. The strips have a fixed length and cannot be cut.
  3. Connect the power cables to the new LED strips. Ensure all connections are firm and correctly oriented.

4.4. Reassembly and Testing

  1. Carefully re-install the light guide plate and diffuser sheets. Ensure they are clean and free of dust or fingerprints.
  2. Gently place the LCD panel back into position. Be extremely careful to avoid pressure points or misalignment.
  3. Re-attach the bezel and all internal components (T-con board, main board, power supply board), reconnecting all cables as they were originally.
  4. Before fully securing the back cover, plug in the TV and power it on briefly to check if the backlights illuminate correctly. If they do, power off and unplug the TV.
  5. Re-attach the back cover and all screws.

5. Operating Instructions

Once correctly installed, the LOTOAK LED TV Backlight Strip Bars operate automatically with your television. There are no separate controls or operational procedures for the backlight strips themselves. They will illuminate when the TV is powered on and turn off when the TV is powered off.

6. Maintenance

The LED backlight strips are designed for long-term, maintenance-free operation. To ensure their longevity:

  • Avoid exposing the TV to extreme temperatures or humidity.
  • Do not attempt to clean the LED strips directly once installed. If the TV interior needs cleaning, use compressed air to gently remove dust.
  • Ensure proper ventilation for your TV to prevent overheating, which can shorten the lifespan of electronic components, including LED backlights.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues after installing the new LED backlight strips, consider the following:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution

  • Loose or incorrect power connection to LED strips.
  • Faulty power supply board or LED driver board.
