4.2 Outdoor Sensor Installation
The outdoor sensor transmits temperature and humidity data to the main unit. It is IPX4 splash-proof but not fully waterproof, so choose a protected location.
- Open the battery compartment of the outdoor sensor and insert 2 x AA batteries (not included), observing polarity.
- Select a channel (1, 2, or 3) using the 'CHANNEL 1/2/3' switch inside the battery compartment. The main unit supports up to three outdoor sensors.
- Place the sensor in a shaded, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight and heat sources to ensure accurate readings. Avoid placing it directly exposed to rain or snow.
- Ensure the sensor is within 60 meters (200 feet) of the main unit, minimizing obstructions like thick walls or large metal objects.

4.3 WWVB Radio Control Time & DST
The weather station automatically synchronizes with the WWVB radio signal for accurate time and date. This typically occurs daily at 1:00, 2:00, or 3:00 AM.
- Upon initial power-up, the unit will automatically attempt to receive the WWVB signal. A tower icon will flash on the display during synchronization.
- If the signal is weak or unavailable, you can manually force synchronization by long-pressing the '▲' button.
- The unit also features an auto-DST (Daylight Saving Time) function, which adjusts the time automatically.

6. Maintenance
- Clean the display and unit casing with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- If the unit will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries from both the main unit and the outdoor sensor to prevent leakage.
- Replace batteries in the outdoor sensor when the low battery indicator appears on the main unit's display.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your weather station, refer to the table below for common problems and solutions.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Outdoor sensor reading is inaccurate or not displayed. | Sensor out of range, interference, low battery, or improper placement. | Check sensor battery. Move sensor closer to the main unit. Ensure no large metal objects or thick walls are between units. Re-sync sensor by removing and reinserting batteries in both units. Ensure sensor is in a shaded, protected area. |
| WWVB time signal is weak or not received. | Interference, unit location, or time of day. | Move the main unit away from electronic devices that may cause interference. Try placing the unit near a window. Manually force synchronization by long-pressing the '▲' button. Signal reception is often better at night. |
| Display is dim or blank. | Not connected to power adapter, low batteries, or backlight setting. | Ensure the power adapter is securely connected and plugged in. Replace batteries if running on battery power. Adjust backlight brightness using the 'Backlight/Snooze' button. |
| Weather forecast seems incorrect. | Forecast is based on barometric pressure changes, not real-time satellite data. | Understand that the forecast is a prediction based on local atmospheric pressure trends and may not always match official weather reports. Allow time for the unit to establish a pressure trend. |
