2.3 App Installation and Pairing
To use the smart features of your motion sensor, you need to download and pair it with the Smart Life or Tuya Smart App.
- Download the 'Smart Life' or 'Tuya Smart' app from your smartphone's app store (Google Play Store for Android, Apple App Store for iOS).
- Register or log in to your account.
- Open the app and tap '+' or 'Add Device'.
- Select 'Security & Video Surveillance' > 'Motion Sensor (Wi-Fi)'.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the sensor to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. Ensure your phone is connected to the same 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network during pairing.
- Once successfully paired, you can rename the device and configure its settings within the app.
2.4 Mounting the Sensor
The sensor is designed for wall mounting. Choose a location where motion detection is desired, such as an entryway, hallway, or staircase. Consider the 128° detection range and 6-meter distance for optimal placement.
- Identify a suitable flat surface for mounting.
- Use the included adhesive tape or screws to securely attach the sensor to the wall. Ensure the sensor is positioned to cover the desired detection area.
- Avoid placing the sensor near heat sources, direct sunlight, or areas with strong air currents, as these can cause false triggers.

3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Motion Detection and Alerts
Once powered on and paired, the sensor will automatically begin detecting motion. When motion is detected within its range, the sensor will:
- Send an instant push notification to your linked Smart Life or Tuya Smart App.
- Trigger any pre-configured smart routines or automations.

3.2 Voice Command Integration
The Zecamin WiFi Motion Sensor is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. To enable voice commands and create routines:
- Open the Alexa or Google Home app.
- Link your Smart Life or Tuya Smart account within the voice assistant app.
- Discover new devices. Your motion sensor should appear.
- Create custom routines. For example, you can set up a routine that says "Welcome Home" when motion is detected in the entryway, or turn on specific lights.
3.3 Smart Light Control and Automation
Leverage the motion sensor to automate your smart lights and other connected devices. This requires a smart light or smart plug already connected to your Smart Life or Tuya Smart App.
- In the Smart Life or Tuya Smart App, navigate to the 'Smart' or 'Automation' section.
- Create a new automation.
- Set the condition: 'When device status changes' > select your motion sensor > 'Motion detected'.
- Set the task: 'Run the device' > select your smart light/plug > 'Turn On'.
- You can also add a condition to turn off the light after a specified period of no motion.

The motion sensor is designed for long battery life. When the batteries are low, you may receive a notification via the app. Replace the batteries as described in Section 2.2 to ensure continuous operation.
4.2 Cleaning
To maintain optimal performance, periodically clean the sensor's lens and casing. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe away dust and debris. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the device.
5. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your Zecamin WiFi Motion Sensor.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Sensor not connecting to Wi-Fi / App | Incorrect Wi-Fi band (only 2.4GHz supported); Incorrect Wi-Fi password; Sensor too far from router; App pairing mode not active. | Ensure your Wi-Fi is 2.4GHz. Verify password. Move sensor closer to router. Re-enter pairing mode on sensor (refer to app instructions for specific steps). |
| No motion detection / Inconsistent detection | Sensor obstructed; Incorrect placement; Low battery; Environmental interference (e.g., direct sunlight, heat sources, strong drafts). | Ensure clear line of sight. Adjust sensor position to cover the desired area. Replace batteries. Relocate sensor away from interference sources. |
| False alarms | Environmental interference (e.g., pets, curtains moving, HVAC vents); Sensor sensitivity too high (if adjustable in app). | Relocate sensor away from sources of unintended motion. Check app settings for sensitivity adjustment options. |
| Delay in notifications / routine execution | Network latency; App or server issues; Power saving mode on sensor. | Ensure stable Wi-Fi connection. Check app and internet status. Some delay is inherent due to Wi-Fi communication and power saving. |
| Voice commands not working | Incorrect linking of accounts; Device not discovered by voice assistant; Incorrect command phrasing. | Verify Smart Life/Tuya Smart account is correctly linked in Alexa/Google Home app. Re-discover devices. Use precise command phrasing. |
