- Your original remote control must have an identical button layout to this replacement remote for successful pairing and operation.

2. Setup
2.1 Battery Installation
The remote control requires two (2) AAA batteries (not included).
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote control.
- Slide the cover downwards or press the latch to remove it.
- Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals align correctly with the markings inside the compartment.
- Replace the battery compartment cover until it clicks securely into place.

2.2 Remote Pairing Instructions
Follow these steps carefully to pair your new remote control with your adjustable bed base:
- Power Cycle the Bed: Unplug the adjustable bed base from the power outlet. Wait for 5 seconds, then plug it back into the outlet.
- Prepare Control Box: Locate the control box (often referred to as the battery backup box or power down box) under the bed. Double-click the 'Reset' button on the control box twice. This will activate the pairing mode, indicated by a light on the control box.
- Initiate Remote Pairing: On the remote control, simultaneously press and hold the "Head Up" button and the "Foot Up" button for approximately 10 seconds.
- Activate Control Box Pairing: While still holding the "Head Up" and "Foot Up" buttons on the remote, quickly press and release the 'Reset Coding' button on the side of the control box under the bed. This button may also be labeled 'Learn' or 'Reset'. Do not press and hold this button; just press and release.
- Confirmation: Once you hear a series of beeps, it indicates that the remote control has successfully synced with the bed base.
Important Pairing Notes:
- Pairing must be completed within 15 seconds of activating the control box's pairing mode.
- If 15 seconds pass without successful pairing, the light on the control box will go out, and you will need to restart the process from Step 1 (unplugging the power).
- Ensure the light on the control box is illuminated when attempting to pair.

3. Operating the Remote Control
The remote control provides intuitive control over your adjustable bed base. The buttons typically include:
- Head Up / Head Down: Adjusts the head section of the bed upwards or downwards.
- Foot Up / Foot Down: Adjusts the foot section of the bed upwards or downwards.
- Flat: Returns the bed to a completely flat position.
- M (Memory): Activates a pre-set memory position. (Functionality may vary based on bed base model).
4. Maintenance
4.1 Battery Replacement
Replace the AAA batteries when the remote's response becomes sluggish or stops working. Refer to Section 2.1 for battery installation instructions.
4.2 Cleaning
To clean the remote control, gently wipe it with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using liquid cleaners or abrasive materials, as these can damage the remote's surface or internal components.
5. Troubleshooting
- Remote not responding: Check if the batteries are correctly installed and have sufficient charge. Replace batteries if necessary.
- Remote not pairing: Ensure you are following the pairing instructions precisely, especially the timing (15-second window) and the power cycle of the bed base. Verify that the control box light is on during the pairing attempt.
- Bed base not responding after pairing: Confirm that your control box model is compatible with this remote (Richmat NL200U 127780C180169 or HJC9). Also, ensure your original remote had an identical button layout.
- Intermittent functionality: Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the bed base's receiver. Low battery power can also cause intermittent issues.
