Setup

Before first use, follow these steps:

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all packaging materials and inspect the coffee maker for any damage.
  2. Clean Components: Wash the glass carafe, lid, and reusable filter in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
  3. Initial Cleaning Cycle: Fill the water reservoir to the 12-cup mark with clean water. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate. Run a brewing cycle without coffee grounds. Discard the water and repeat this process once more to ensure the appliance is clean.
  4. Placement: Place the coffee maker on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface, away from the edge of the counter.

Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to brew coffee:

  1. Fill Water Reservoir: Open the top lid and fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water using the clear view water gauge as a guide for the desired number of cups. Do not exceed the 12-cup MAX level.
  2. Add Coffee Grounds: Place the reusable filter into the filter basket. Add the desired amount of ground coffee into the filter. A general guideline is one tablespoon of coffee per cup, but adjust to your preference. Close the top lid securely.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your coffee maker.

  1. Daily Cleaning: After each use, unplug the coffee maker and allow it to cool completely. Remove the reusable filter and discard used coffee grounds. Wash the reusable filter, carafe, and carafe lid in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. The borosilicate glass carafe is dishwasher safe.
  2. Hands removing the reusable filter from the coffee maker's filter basket.

  3. Wipe Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads. Never immerse the main unit in water or other liquids.
  4. Descaling (Monthly or Bi-Monthly): Mineral deposits from water can build up over time and affect performance. To descale, fill the water reservoir with a mixture of white vinegar and water (1:2 ratio). Run a brewing cycle. After the cycle, let the mixture sit in the carafe for 15-20 minutes. Discard the mixture and run two full cycles with clean water to rinse thoroughly.
