Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your utility pump.

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Pump does not start. No power, tripped circuit breaker, faulty outlet.Check power connection, reset circuit breaker, test outlet with another device.
Low or no water flow.Clogged intake screen, kinked hose, air lock, pump not fully submerged.Clean intake screen, straighten hose, ensure pump is fully submerged, prime pump if necessary.
Pump runs but no water is discharged.Air lock, discharge hose blocked, pump not submerged enough.Ensure pump is fully submerged, check for blockages in hose, tilt pump to release trapped air.
Pump cycles on and off frequently.Water level too low for continuous operation, debris interfering with float switch (if applicable).Ensure sufficient water level for continuous operation. This model does not have a float switch, so this issue is less likely unless an external one is used.

If the problem persists after attempting these solutions, please contact Westinghouse customer support.
