2. Safety Information

The control panel features digital displays for temperature, humidity, and egg turning times. It includes dedicated buttons for setting parameters and switches for power, light, sterilization, and egg turning. Indicator lights provide visual feedback on various functions such as fan, heating elements (HEAT1, HEAT2), up/down, wet, and alarm status.

4. Setup

Follow these steps for proper installation of your XM-18G controller:

  1. Mounting the Controller: Install the controller panel into a suitable opening in your incubator. Ensure it is securely fastened.
  2. Connecting Sensors:
    • Connect the temperature sensor to the designated port on the back of the controller.
    • Connect the humidity sensor to its designated port.
  3. Wiring Connections: Connect the power supply, heating elements, fan, egg turning motor, and other accessories to the appropriate terminals on the back of the controller. Refer to the wiring diagram below for correct connections. Ensure all connections are secure to prevent electrical hazards.

  4. Power Connection: Once all components are connected, plug the controller into a 110V power outlet.
  5. Initial Power-On: Turn on the main power switch. The display will illuminate, showing current temperature and humidity readings.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Display Readings

The digital displays show the following information:

  • Temperature ℃: Current temperature inside the incubator.
  • Humidity %: Current relative humidity inside the incubator.
  • Egg Turning Times: Records the number of egg turning cycles completed.
  • Hatching Days: Displays the number of days since incubation started.

5.2 Setting Parameters

To adjust settings, use the SET, UP, DOWN, and OK buttons.

  1. Enter Setting Mode: Press and hold the SET button for a few seconds until the display changes to show a parameter code.
  2. Navigate Parameters: Use the UP and DOWN buttons to scroll through different parameters (e.g., temperature setting, humidity setting, egg turning cycle).
  3. Adjust Value: Once the desired parameter is displayed, press SET again to enter its value adjustment mode. Use UP and DOWN to change the value.
  4. Confirm Setting: Press OK to save the new value and return to parameter navigation.
  5. Exit Setting Mode: Press and hold SET again, or wait for the system to automatically exit after a period of inactivity.

Key Parameters and Factory Settings:

  • Egg Turning Cycle: 0-999 Minutes (Factory Setting: 90 Minutes)
  • Egg Turning Time: 0-999 Seconds (Factory Setting: 180 Seconds)
  • Ventilation Cycle: 0-999 Minutes (Factory Setting: 120 Minutes)
  • Ventilation Time: 0-999 Seconds (Factory Setting: 15 Seconds)

5.3 Output Channels

The controller manages 7 output channels:

  • Over Temperature
  • Temperature Control
  • Low Temperature
  • Left Turn (Egg Turning)
  • Right Turn (Egg Turning)
  • Humidity Control
  • Alarm

Output current for Temperature Control and Low Temperature is 10A; for others, it is 1A.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and accuracy of your controller:

  • Cleaning: Gently wipe the control panel with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure no liquid enters the device.
  • Sensor Care: Keep temperature and humidity sensors clean and free from dust or debris. Avoid bending or damaging the sensor probes.
  • Connection Checks: Periodically inspect all wiring connections to ensure they are secure and free from corrosion.
  • Storage: If storing the controller for an extended period, disconnect it from power and store in a dry, cool place.
