1. Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the Hotsmtbang replacement remote control, designed for use with the Costway ML190 adjustable bed base. Please read these instructions carefully before use to ensure proper setup and operation.

2. Important Compatibility Notes

This replacement remote control is specifically designed for certain adjustable bed bases. To ensure compatibility, please observe the following:

• Your original remote control must be visually identical to the one shown in this manual and product images.
• The control box of your adjustable bed base must be a Richmat brand.
• Confirmed compatible Richmat control box models include: 127780C180036A and NU203CB.
• The remote control requires pairing with your bed base before it can be used.

If your bed base or control box model differs, this remote may not be compatible.

3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

The remote control requires two (2) AAA batteries (not included). Follow these steps to install them:

1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote control.
2. Slide the cover downwards or press the latch to open it.

3. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals align correctly with the markings inside the compartment.

4. Replace the battery compartment cover by sliding it back into place until it clicks securely.

3.2 Pairing the Remote Control

After installing batteries, the remote control must be paired with your adjustable bed base. The pairing method is as follows:

• Ensure your adjustable bed base is powered on and the control box is accessible.
• Simultaneously press and hold the Head Up button and the Feet Up button on the remote control.
• Continue holding both buttons until the bed base responds or a light indicator on the remote/control box confirms successful pairing.

Note: The exact response or indicator may vary slightly depending on your specific bed base model. Refer to your bed base's original manual for additional pairing details if needed.

4. Operating the Remote Control

Once paired, the remote control allows you to adjust your bed base. The buttons typically correspond to the following functions:

• Head Up/Down: Adjusts the head section of the bed.
• Feet Up/Down: Adjusts the foot section of the bed.
• Other buttons (if present): May control features such as massage, zero gravity, or preset positions. Refer to your bed base's original manual for specific button functions.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Battery Replacement

When the remote control's performance degrades or it stops responding, it may be time to replace the batteries. Follow the battery installation steps in Section 3.1 to replace the two AAA batteries.

• Always use new AAA batteries.
• Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.
• Dispose of used batteries responsibly according to local regulations.

5.2 Cleaning

To clean the remote control, wipe it with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials, as these can damage the remote.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your remote control, try the following troubleshooting steps:

• Remote not responding:
  • Check if the batteries are correctly installed and not depleted. Replace them if necessary.
  • Ensure the remote is paired with the bed base. Attempt the pairing process again as described in Section 3.2.
  • Verify that the bed base is plugged into a working power outlet.
• Bed base not responding after pairing:
  • Confirm that your bed base has a Richmat control box and matches the compatible models listed in Section 2.
  • Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the bed base's receiver.
