Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for optimal performance and safety. This unit is designed for standard double-hung windows. Ensure all support parts are securely fastened to firm wood, masonry, or metal. The power outlet must be within reach of the power cord.

Preparing the Air Conditioner Unit
- Install the top mounting rail onto the air conditioner using three Type A screws.
- Slide the side panels into the side panel rails on the unit.
- Slide the left and right side panel frames into the top and bottom rails. Ensure the side curtain slides smoothly into the frame.
Installing the Unit in the Window
- Measure the width of your window and mark the center line on the inside window sill.
- Carefully set the air conditioner into the window opening, ensuring it is centered. Place the unit through the edge of the bottom mounting rail, against the back edge of the sill.
- Bring the window sash down so that the top mounting rail of the air conditioner is in front of the window.
- Use a level to ensure the window air conditioner is level, tilting slightly to the outside to allow for proper drainage.
- Extend the side curtain panels until they fill the window opening completely.
- Mark the location of the holes in each corner of the extended panels.
- Use an electrical drill with a 1/8" drill bit to drill pilot holes at the marked locations.
- Secure the side panels in place using four Type B screws.
- Slide the side bracket onto the side bottom of the unit. Install the side bracket into the unit and into the window sill using two Type B screws provided. Repeat this step for the other side.
- Install the window locking bracket on top of the window using a Type B screw. This helps prevent the window from being opened from the outside.
- Cut the foam top window gasket to the width of your window. Stuff this foam between the glass and the window to prevent air and insects from entering the room.
- Finally, plug the air conditioner into a three-prong, 115V output. Turn on the air conditioner using the power button on the unit or the remote control.

Dynamic Modes
- Cool Mode: Provides cooling and simultaneously reduces humidity. Activate by pressing the MODE button. Adjust temperature with the up/down arrows and fan speed with the Fan Speed button.
- Dry Mode: Reduces excessive humidity. Activate by pressing the MODE button. The unit will automatically cycle between cooling and fan functions.
- Fan Mode: Circulates air without cooling. Adjust speed (Hi, Med, Lo) using the Fan Speed button.
- Auto Mode: Automatically selects the optimal mode (Cool, Dry, or Fan) based on room temperature, detected by seven internal sensors. Activate by pressing the MODE button.
Special Features
- Sleep Mode: Enhances nightly comfort. Press the SLEEP button to dim display lights (Sleep light remains on). The air conditioner will automatically adjust temperature and fan speed for an optimal sleeping environment. The set temperature gradually increases every 30-60 minutes, up to six times, until reaching 81 or 82 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Eco Mode: Saves energy. When activated, the unit turns off once the room reaches the user-set temperature and turns back on when the temperature rises above it. The fan motor runs briefly before the compressor starts, then pauses, repeating to provide comfort and save energy.
- Wi-Fi and Remote Control: Control your air conditioner using the Comfort Zone smart app on your smartphone or the provided remote. Manage modes, fan speed, eco settings, and timer functions remotely. The display button allows toggling lights or the LED display on/off.
- Digital Display: Shows the operation mode and set temperature when the timer is not in use. The timer setting is displayed below.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures efficient operation and longevity of your air conditioner.
Air Filter Cleaning
The air filter should be checked monthly for cleanliness. Accumulated particles and dust can reduce airflow and cause frost buildup on cooling coils. The Filter Check light will illuminate after 500 total hours of fan motor operation to remind you to clean the filter.
- Remove the filter by sliding it out from the right side of the air conditioner.
- Gently wash the filter using liquid dish soap and warm water.
- Shake the filter to remove excess water.
- Allow the filter to air dry completely before reinserting.
- Alternatively, you can vacuum the filter instead of washing it.
Troubleshooting
If your Comfort Zone air conditioner is not operating as expected, consider the following common issues and solutions before contacting support.
- Unit does not turn on: Check if the power cord is securely plugged into a functioning 115V outlet. Ensure the circuit breaker has not tripped. Verify the unit's power button is pressed and the remote control batteries are not depleted.
- Insufficient cooling: Check if the air filter is clean. A dirty filter restricts airflow. Ensure windows and doors are closed to prevent warm air from entering the room. Verify the temperature setting is lower than the ambient room temperature. The unit may be undersized for the room area (this 10,000 BTU unit is rated for up to 450 sq ft).
- Noisy operation: Some operational noise is normal. Ensure the unit is installed level and securely in the window to prevent rattling. Check for any obstructions in the air intake or exhaust vents.
- Water leakage: Ensure the unit is tilted slightly to the outside to allow for proper condensate drainage. Check if the drain pan is clear of debris.
- Wi-Fi connectivity issues: Ensure your Wi-Fi network is active and the unit is within range. Follow the instructions in the Comfort Zone smart app for pairing and troubleshooting connectivity.
For persistent issues, refer to the detailed troubleshooting section in the full user manual or contact customer support.
