5. Installation
This flood light is designed for surface-mounted installation. It does not come with a plug and requires hardwiring. Ensure all electrical connections are secure and comply with local codes.
Mounting Options:
The U-shaped bracket allows for flexible installation on various surfaces:
- Wall Mounting: Secure the bracket to a sturdy wall surface.
- Floor Mounting: Attach the bracket to a stable ground surface.
- Ceiling Mounting: Fasten the bracket to an overhead structure.
Wiring Instructions:
The fixture includes three wires for connection:
- Live Wire (L): Typically black or brown. Connect to the live/hot wire from your power source.
- Neutral Wire (N): Typically white or blue. Connect to the neutral wire from your power source.
- Ground Wire: Typically green or green/yellow. Connect to the ground wire from your power source.
The wire length provided is approximately 40 inches (100 cm).
Photocell Sensor Placement:
The photocell sensor is located on the back of the unit. For optimal dusk-to-dawn functionality, ensure the sensor is exposed to ambient light and not obstructed by eaves, overhangs, or reflections from nearby surfaces. If mounted under an eave, it may be necessary to reposition the sensor to a side where it can detect natural light accurately to prevent the light from remaining on or cycling incorrectly. This may involve carefully detaching and re-securing the sensor with appropriate fasteners or ties to an unobstructed position.

This image provides a detailed diagram for installing the flood light, including dimensions (7.5in/19.1cm height, 16.2in/41.2cm width) and wire length (40in/100cm). It also shows three mounting options: wall mounting, floor mounting, and ceiling mounting, along with a basic wiring guide for live, ground, and neutral wires.

6. Operation
The STASUN LED Flood Light is designed for automatic operation using its integrated photocell sensor.
Dusk to Dawn Mode:
- When ambient brightness falls between 10-20 Lux (dusk), the flood light will automatically turn ON.
- When ambient brightness rises between 30-60 Lux (dawn), the flood light will automatically turn OFF.
No manual intervention is required once the light is properly installed and powered.

This graphic illustrates the automatic dusk-to-dawn operation of the flood light. It shows the light turning off automatically during daylight (10-20 LUX) and turning on automatically at night (30-60 LUX), with a close-up of the photocell sensor.
7. Maintenance
The STASUN LED Flood Light requires minimal maintenance.
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the lens and exterior housing with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure the power is off before cleaning.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect the fixture for any signs of damage to the housing, wiring, or mounting bracket. Address any issues promptly.
- Photocell: Ensure the photocell sensor remains clear of obstructions (e.g., leaves, dirt) to maintain proper dusk-to-dawn functionality.
8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Light does not turn ON at dusk. | No power, faulty wiring, photocell obstructed, photocell malfunction. | Check circuit breaker. Verify wiring connections. Clear any obstructions from the photocell. Contact support if issues persist. |
| Light does not turn OFF at dawn. | Photocell obstructed, photocell receiving insufficient light (e.g., mounted under deep eave), internal reflection. | Ensure photocell is exposed to direct ambient light. Reposition the photocell if necessary (see Installation section). Check for nearby reflective surfaces that might be confusing the sensor. |
| Light cycles ON and OFF repeatedly. | Light from the flood light itself or another light source is reflecting back into the photocell. | Adjust the angle of the light heads to prevent light from hitting the photocell. Identify and eliminate any reflective surfaces near the photocell. Consider repositioning the photocell if possible. |
| Reduced brightness or flickering. | Voltage fluctuations, internal component failure. | Ensure stable power supply. If problem persists, contact customer support. |
