This section provides a step-by-step guide for installing your Hykolity Mini Split Air Conditioner & Heater. For a visual demonstration, please refer to the official installation video below. Professional installation is highly recommended.
Video: Official Hykolity Mini Split Air Conditioner Installation Guide. This video provides a detailed visual walkthrough of the entire installation process, from mounting the units to connecting pipes and electrical wiring, and performing the vacuum test.
5.1 Indoor Unit Installation
Begin by selecting an appropriate location for the indoor unit, ensuring sufficient clearance from walls and ceiling. Use the provided mounting mark of the hanging plate to accurately drill screw holes. Secure the back plate to the wall with screws. Carefully turn over the indoor unit, press the buckle, and remove the metal back plate. Hang the top of the indoor unit onto the mounting plate, then apply gentle pressure to the left and right sides, pressing inward until it is firmly hooked. Push down on the bottom of the indoor unit to lock it onto the hooks of the mounting plate.
5.2 Outdoor Unit Installation
Measure the spacing of the outdoor unit support and mark the dimensions for expansion bolts. Drill holes, clean concrete dust, and place the bolts. Fasten the outdoor unit brackets, ensuring they are horizontal. Use a wrench to firmly fix the outdoor unit and brackets with bolts. Ensure the heat dissipation direction of the air outlet is forward without obstruction.
5.3 Refrigerant Pipe Connection
Select the direction for the refrigeration pipe. When cutting off the plastic sheet at the outlet, trim smoothly. Carefully bend the refrigeration pipe, as it is easy to bend and break. Straighten the connecting pipe for connection. Remove the plastic cover from the pipe ports and the protective cover from the piping connectors. Align the cone mouth of the indoor unit and the shackle of the pipe parallel to prevent refrigerant leakage. After aligning, rotate the nut of the connecting pipe to tighten it as tightly as possible. When using two wrenches to tighten, ensure the end close to the indoor unit cannot be turned to avoid tearing the interface.
5.4 Electrical Connection
Connect the drainage hose, then connect the wires from the back of the indoor unit. Open the front panel of the indoor unit and pull up the wires. Connect the wires to the corresponding terminals following the wiring diagram on the electric control box cover, ensuring they are securely connected. Wrap the joint with insulation pipe and use insulation tape to secure the refrigeration pipe, wires, and drainage hose together firmly. Slowly pass the bundle through the wall hole and secure it. For the outdoor unit, unscrew the wiring cover, insert the wires into the left hole, and connect them according to the mark. Refer to the diagram inside the cover and connect the wires to the correct terminals, ensuring all connections are tight and secure. Reinstall the cable clamps and wiring cover. Note: When connecting the wires of the indoor and outdoor units, the power should be cut off. (Power Cord Not Included)
5.5 Vacuum and Pressure Relief Test
Open the low pressure valve counterclockwise for 1/4 turn with a hexagonal wrench to let a little refrigerant fill the system. Close the low pressure valve after 5 seconds and quickly remove the pressure hose. Start the vacuum pump to remove air from the system. Vacuum for at least 15 minutes, or until the compound gauge shows a reading of -0.1Mpa (-76cmHg). Turn off the vacuum pump, fully open the low pressure valve and high pressure valve of the outdoor unit with a hexagonal wrench. Put on the protective cap, apply soapy water, and check for leaks. If no bubbles appear, it means that it's safe, and you can put the valve cover back on. If everything checks out, please turn on the power and enjoy the coolness.

- Outdoor Unit Cleaning: Periodically clean the outdoor unit's coils and fins to remove dirt and debris that can obstruct airflow and reduce efficiency.
- Drainage Line Check: Ensure the drainage line is clear of blockages to prevent water leakage.
- Seasonal Checks: Before the cooling or heating season, inspect the unit for any visible damage, loose connections, or unusual noises.
