Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials and dispose of them responsibly.
- Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wash the carafe, filter basket, and permanent filter (if applicable) in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the exterior of the coffee machine with a damp cloth.
- First Brew Cycle (Cleaning): Fill the water reservoir to the maximum level with cold water. Do not add coffee. Place the empty filter basket and carafe in position. Run a full brewing cycle to clean the internal components. Discard the water. Repeat this process 2-3 times.
- Placement: Place the coffee machine on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from the edge of the counter and out of reach of children. Ensure adequate ventilation around the appliance.
Operating Instructions
- Fill Water Reservoir: Open the lid of the water reservoir and fill it with fresh, cold water to the desired level, using the water level indicator as a guide. Do not exceed the "MAX" mark.
- Add Coffee Grounds: Place a paper filter (size 1x4 or similar, depending on basket size) into the filter basket, or use the permanent filter if provided. Add the desired amount of ground coffee. A general guideline is one tablespoon of coffee per cup (150ml).
- Position Carafe: Ensure the glass carafe is correctly placed on the warming plate. The drip-stop system will prevent coffee from dripping when the carafe is removed during brewing.
- Start Brewing: Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet. Press the On/Off switch. The indicator light will illuminate, and the brewing process will begin.
- Serving: Once the brewing cycle is complete, the coffee machine will automatically switch to the warming function. You can remove the carafe to serve. The warming plate will keep the coffee hot for a period.
- Switch Off: After serving or when the warming period is over, press the On/Off switch to turn off the appliance and unplug it from the power outlet.
Maintenance and Cleaning
- Always unplug the coffee machine and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Carafe and Filter Basket: Wash the glass carafe, lid, and filter basket in warm, soapy water after each use. Rinse thoroughly and dry. These parts may also be top-rack dishwasher safe (check product specific instructions if available, otherwise hand wash).
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior surfaces of the coffee machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads. Never immerse the main unit in water or any other liquid.
- Descaling: Mineral deposits from water can build up in your coffee machine over time, affecting performance. Descale your machine regularly (e.g., every 2-3 months, or more often in hard water areas).
To descale: Fill the water reservoir with a mixture of white vinegar and water (1:2 ratio) or a commercial descaling solution according to its instructions. Run a full brewing cycle. After the cycle, discard the solution and run 2-3 cycles with fresh water to rinse thoroughly.
