Introduction
Thank you for choosing the Dianfan 90mm Aperture 800mm Refractor Telescope. This portable professional telescope is designed for adults and astronomy enthusiasts, offering a superior stargazing experience. With its 90mm objective lens and 800mm focal length, it gathers ample light for bright, clear views of celestial objects. This manual will guide you through the assembly, operation, and maintenance of your new telescope, ensuring you get the most out of its powerful magnification and user-friendly design.
Product Features
- Superior Optics: Features a focal length of 800 mm and a fully coated 90 mm objective lens. The large aperture enhances light gathering for brighter, clearer views, while high-transmission coatings improve contrast and color for sharp, vivid images.
- Powerful Magnification: Includes two eyepieces and a 3× Barlow lens, providing a magnification range of 32×–240×. This allows for detailed observation of lunar craters and seas, as well as distant terrestrial targets. The 45° zenith mirror ensures upright and correctly oriented images.
- Quick Setup & Beginner-Friendly: Designed for easy assembly, typically ready in about 15 minutes. Smooth focusing mechanisms assist in quickly locating and observing targets.
- Portable & Versatile: Lightweight design paired with a sturdy stainless steel tripod ensures stable viewing. The included carry bag makes it convenient for travel and outdoor use. Suitable for stargazing, birdwatching, wildlife observation, and cityscape viewing.

Setup Instructions
Follow these steps to assemble your telescope:
- Unpack Components: Carefully remove all components from the carry bag and packaging. Refer to the 'Components' section to identify each part.
- Set up the Tripod: Extend the legs of the stainless steel tripod to your desired height and secure them. Attach the accessory tray to the center brace of the tripod for stability and to hold eyepieces.
- Mount the Telescope Tube: Place the telescope tube onto the tripod mount. Ensure the tube clamp rings are securely fastened to the mount.
- Attach the Finder Scope: Install the finder scope onto its base on the main telescope tube. Secure it with the provided screws.
- Insert the Zenith Mirror: Insert the 45° zenith mirror into the focuser of the telescope. Tighten the small screw to hold it in place.
- Insert an Eyepiece: Choose an eyepiece (e.g., 25mm for lower magnification) and insert it into the zenith mirror. Secure it with the small screw.
- Attach Phone Adapter (Optional): If using, attach the phone adapter to an eyepiece and then secure your smartphone to the adapter.

Operating Instructions
To begin observing with your Dianfan telescope:
- Align the Finder Scope: Before observing, align the finder scope with the main telescope. Point the main telescope at a distant, easily identifiable terrestrial object (e.g., a tree or building). Look through the finder scope and adjust its alignment screws until the object is centered in its crosshairs. Then, look through the main telescope's eyepiece and fine-tune the finder scope's alignment until the object is also centered in the main telescope's view.
- Locate an Object: Use the finder scope to locate the celestial or terrestrial object you wish to observe. The wider field of view of the finder scope makes initial targeting easier.
- Focus Adjustment: Once the object is in the main telescope's field of view, slowly rotate the focus wheel until the image appears sharp and clear.
- Change Magnification: Start with the lowest magnification eyepiece (e.g., 25mm) for a wider field of view. To increase magnification, switch to a higher power eyepiece (e.g., 10mm) or use the 3× Barlow lens in conjunction with an eyepiece.
- Tracking Objects: Use the slow-motion control handle on the tripod to make fine adjustments and track moving celestial objects across the sky.

Maintenance
Proper maintenance will ensure the longevity and performance of your telescope:
- Cleaning Lenses: Use a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for optical lenses. Gently wipe the lens surfaces to remove dust. For stubborn smudges, use a specialized optical cleaning solution sparingly. Avoid touching the lens surfaces with your fingers.
- Cleaning the Telescope Body: Wipe the exterior of the telescope tube and tripod with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: When not in use, store the telescope in its carry bag in a dry, dust-free environment. Ensure all caps are on the objective lens and eyepieces to prevent dust accumulation.
- Avoid Extreme Temperatures: Do not expose the telescope to extreme temperatures or rapid temperature changes, as this can affect the optics.
Troubleshooting
Here are some common issues and their solutions:
- Q1: What kind of weather is suitable for observing with a telescope?
A: Please choose a calm and cloudless night for observation to minimize airflow disturbance. Atmospheric conditions such as high wind or severe atmospheric turbulence may affect the observation. - Q2: Why is it difficult to see planets or nebulae in cities?
A: Light pollution from city lights can mask faint objects and make them difficult to observe. For clearer images of celestial objects, observe from dark areas away from the city (e.g., suburbs, mountaintops). - Q3: How to make the tripod more stable?
A: Ensure the tripod is placed on flat, stable ground. If using on uneven terrain, position one leg facing the direction of the telescope's observation target to improve stability.
