1. Introduction

5. Setup

5.1 Initial Power Up

Before first use, ensure the JBL PartyBox Encore Essential is fully charged. Connect the provided AC power cord to the speaker's power input and then to a wall outlet. The charging indicator will show the battery status.

5.2 Bluetooth Pairing

To connect your device via Bluetooth:

1. Power on the JBL PartyBox Encore Essential.
2. Press the Bluetooth button on the speaker. The Bluetooth indicator will start flashing.
3. On your mobile device, enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
4. Select "JBL PartyBox Encore Essential" from the list to pair. Once connected, the Bluetooth indicator will glow solid.

5.3 AUX Connection

To connect an audio source via AUX cable:

1. Connect one end of the auxiliary cable to the AUX IN port on the back of the JBL PartyBox Encore Essential.
2. Connect the other end of the auxiliary cable to the audio output of your device (e.g., smartphone, tablet, laptop).
3. The speaker will automatically switch to AUX mode.

5.4 USB Playback

To play music from a USB stick:

• Insert a USB stick containing audio files into the USB port on the speaker.
• The speaker will automatically detect the USB and begin playing music.

5.5 True Wireless Stereo (TWS) Pairing

To pair two JBL PartyBox Encore Essential speakers for TWS:

1. Ensure both speakers are powered on and in Bluetooth pairing mode.
2. On one of the speakers, press and hold the TWS button until you hear a confirmation tone.
3. The speakers will automatically connect to each other. Once connected, the TWS indicator will glow solid on both speakers.
4. Connect your mobile device to one of the paired speakers via Bluetooth.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Power On/Off

Press the power button located on the top panel of the speaker to turn it on or off.

6.2 Volume Control

Use the volume up (+) and volume down (-) buttons on the top panel to adjust the audio level. You can also control the volume from your connected device.

6.3 Playback Control

Use the Play/Pause button to start or stop music playback. Double-press for next track, triple-press for previous track.

6.4 Light Show Control

Press the light show button on the top panel to cycle through different light modes or turn the light show off. Further customization may be available via the JBL PartyBox app.

6.5 Microphone Input

Connect a wired microphone to the dedicated microphone input for karaoke. Adjust microphone volume and echo effects using the controls on the speaker or via the JBL PartyBox app.
