4. Setup and Assembly

Follow these steps for proper assembly of your greenhouse. It is recommended to have at least two people for assembly.

  1. Choose a Location: Select a flat, stable, and well-drained area for your greenhouse. Ensure it receives adequate sunlight for your plants.
  2. Assemble the Frame: Connect the steel frame components according to the included assembly diagram. Ensure all connections are secure. The powder-coated steel frame provides stability and resistance to rust.
  3. Install Shelves: Place the wired shelves onto the designated frame supports. There are six shelves in total, providing ample space for various plants. Each shelf has a weight capacity of 33 lbs.
  4. Drape the PE Cover: Carefully drape the polyethylene (PE) cover over the assembled steel frame. Ensure the cover is properly aligned and fits snugly. The PE cover is designed to lock in heat and humidity while blocking harmful UV rays.
  5. Secure the Cover: The cover features a roll-up zippered door for easy access and ventilation. Use the securing straps to keep the door open when needed.
  6. Anchor the Greenhouse: For enhanced stability, especially in windy conditions, utilize the four guy ropes and four ground stakes. The greenhouse also has 4-inch (10 cm) extended edges at the bottom of the cover that can be deeply buried in the soil to create an airtight seal and further secure the structure.

5. Operating Your Greenhouse

The Outsunny Mini Walk-in Greenhouse provides an ideal environment for nurturing seedlings, growing tropical plants, or extending your gardening season.

  • Temperature and Humidity Control: The PE cover helps maintain a stable internal temperature and humidity. Monitor conditions regularly using a thermometer and hygrometer (not included).
  • Ventilation: Use the roll-up zippered door to control airflow and prevent excessive heat buildup, especially on sunny days. Proper ventilation is crucial to prevent fungal diseases and ensure healthy plant growth.
  • Watering: Water plants as needed, considering the increased humidity inside the greenhouse which may reduce the frequency of watering compared to outdoor plants.
  • Plant Arrangement: Utilize the six shelves to organize plants by type, age, or light requirements. Place taller plants on lower shelves or directly on the ground, and smaller plants on upper shelves.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance will prolong the life of your greenhouse:

  • Cleaning the Cover: Periodically clean the PE cover with mild soap and water to remove dirt and debris, ensuring maximum light penetration. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
  • Frame Inspection: Regularly check the steel frame for any signs of rust or damage. Although powder-coated, prolonged exposure to moisture can affect it.
  • Shelf Stability: Ensure shelves remain stable and secure. If needed, reinforce them or use zip ties to prevent sliding, as noted by some users.
  • Anchoring Check: Re-check the guy ropes and ground stakes periodically, especially after strong winds or heavy rain, to ensure the greenhouse remains securely anchored.
  • Zipper Care: Keep the zipper clean and lubricated if it becomes stiff.
