Setup
1. Battery Installation
Patches comes with 2 AA batteries pre-installed. To access the battery compartment for replacement, locate the Velcro strap on Patches' belly. Open the strap to reveal the battery compartment. Use a small Phillips head screwdriver to open the battery cover. Insert new AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Secure the cover and close the Velcro strap.
Note: Always use fresh batteries and dispose of old batteries responsibly. Do not mix old and new batteries.
2. Unboxing and Preparation
Carefully remove Patches and all accessories from the packaging. Ensure all plastic ties and protective materials are removed before play. The 2-in-1 carrier can be used immediately for transport or converted into a bed.

Operating Patches
Patches is designed for interactive play with over 60 unique sounds and reactions. Here’s how to engage with your new puppy:
1. Interactive Sensors
- Head Sensor: Gently pet Patches on the top of its head to elicit happy sounds and reactions. Its eyes will blink and close in response to your touch.
- Nose Sensor: Press Patches' nose for various sounds and reactions, including sniffing and playful barks.
- Back Sensor: Pet Patches on its back for additional interactive responses.

2. Feeding Patches
Use the included feeding bottle to feed Patches. Place the bottle near its mouth, and Patches will make endearing feeding sounds and reactions, simulating a real puppy drinking.

3. Sleep Mode
When Patches is left undisturbed for a period, it will enter a sleep mode, closing its eyes and making soft sleeping sounds. This conserves battery life and simulates a real puppy resting.
4. 2-in-1 Carrier Functionality
The included carrier is designed for versatility:
- Carrier Mode: Use the carrier to transport Patches safely and comfortably. The top handle allows for easy carrying.
- Bed Mode: Unclip the top portion of the carrier to transform the base into a cozy bed for Patches. This is ideal for nap time or when Patches needs a comfortable resting spot.

5. Personalization

Maintenance
Cleaning Instructions
To clean Patches, gently wipe the surface with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the toy in water, as this may damage the electronic components. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
Battery Replacement
When Patches' reactions become weak or inconsistent, it's time to replace the batteries. Follow the steps outlined in the "Setup" section for safe battery replacement.
