1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Grimtron Hotel Safe Box. This safe is designed to provide secure storage for your valuables, including documents, laptops, smartphones, smartwatches, jewelry, and cash. It features advanced security options such as an audit-trail function, administrator password capabilities, silent mode, LED interior lighting, and a backlit keypad. This manual will guide you through the setup, operation, and maintenance of your new safe.

3. Setup

3.1 Initial Opening and Battery Installation

Upon receiving your safe, it will typically be in an unlocked state. Before first use, install 4 AA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment located inside the safe door. Ensure correct polarity.

3.2 Mounting the Safe

For enhanced security, the safe can be securely mounted to a surface. It features 4 anchor holes: 2 in the bottom and 2 in the back. Use the provided expansion screws to secure the safe to a stable surface such as a wall or floor.

3.3 Setting User Passwords and Modes

The safe supports both Hotel Mode and Personal Mode, offering flexibility based on your needs. Refer to the detailed instructions in the included User Manual for specific steps on setting up initial passwords, administrator passwords, and switching between modes. 4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Locking and Unlocking the Safe

1. When you receive the safe, it is open and ready to hold your valuables.
2. To lock: Close the safe door, enter your desired 4-6 digit password on the keypad, and press the "#" key. The safe will lock.
3. To unlock: Enter the set password on the keypad. The safe will open.

4.2 Silent Mode and Backlit Keypad

To activate silent mode and mute keypad sounds, refer to the specific instructions in your detailed user manual. The backlit keypad automatically illuminates when keys are pressed, allowing for quick and easy access even in dark environments.

4.3 Hotel Mode vs. Personal Mode

The safe offers two operational modes:

• Hotel Mode: Designed for temporary users, allowing guests to set their own temporary passwords. An administrator password can be set to manage access and prevent unauthorized changes. This mode also supports unlocking records and date programming.
• Personal Mode: Ideal for long-term personal use, where a permanent personal password is set. This mode also supports unlocking records and date programming.

4.4 Using the Emergency Key

In case of forgotten password or depleted batteries, the emergency key can be used to open the safe. Locate the hidden keyhole cover, typically near the keypad, and use the provided hexagonal screwdriver to remove it. Insert the emergency key and turn to unlock the safe. It is recommended to store emergency keys in a secure location outside the safe.

4.5 Audit-Trail Function

The safe is equipped with an audit-trail function that records opening and closing events. To access these records, a handheld CEU (not included, additional purchase required) is necessary. This feature is particularly useful for monitoring safe usage in hotel or rental environments.

5.1 Battery Replacement

When the battery power is low, the keypad display may indicate a low battery warning. Replace all 4 AA batteries promptly to ensure continuous operation. Always use new, high-quality alkaline batteries.

5.2 Cleaning and Care

Clean the exterior of the safe with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish. Ensure the keypad and display remain free of dust and debris. The plush pad inside the safe can be removed and cleaned as needed to protect your valuables.

6.1 Safe Not Opening

• Incorrect Password: Ensure you are entering the correct 4-6 digit password.
• Low Battery: If the display is dim or unresponsive, replace the batteries.
• Emergency Key: Use the emergency key as a backup to open the safe.
