4. Setup and Installation
4.1 Mounting the Lamp
- Prepare the Installation Area: Choose a suitable outdoor location on a wall. Ensure the surface is stable and can support the lamp's weight.
- Mark Drilling Points: Detach the mounting plate from the lamp unit. Hold the mounting plate against the wall at the desired installation height and mark the drilling points through the plate's holes.
- Drill Holes: Drill holes at the marked points using an appropriate drill bit for your wall material. Insert the provided wall plugs into the drilled holes.
- Secure Mounting Plate: Fasten the mounting plate to the wall using the provided screws. Ensure it is securely attached.

4.2 Electrical Wiring
WARNING: Electrical installation should only be carried out by a qualified electrician. Ensure the main power supply is disconnected before wiring.
- Connect Wires: Connect the household electrical wires to the terminal block inside the lamp unit. Typically, this involves connecting the live (brown/black), neutral (blue), and earth (green/yellow) wires to their corresponding terminals.
- Secure Wiring: Ensure all connections are tight and secure. Use appropriate cable glands to maintain the IP44 rating.
4.3 Bulb Installation
- Insert Bulb: Carefully screw an E27 bulb (max 15W LED) into the lamp holder.
- Close Lamp Unit: Attach the lamp unit to the secured mounting plate, ensuring it is properly sealed to maintain its weather resistance.
- Restore Power: Once installation is complete and secure, restore power at the main circuit breaker.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Motion Sensor Functionality
The Lindby Ilana lamp is equipped with an integrated motion detector. Once power is supplied, the sensor will automatically detect movement within its detection range and activate the light. The light will remain on for a preset duration (typically adjustable, refer to specific sensor instructions if provided separately) and then turn off if no further movement is detected.

5.2 Light Operation
The lamp operates automatically based on the motion sensor. There is no manual switch on the lamp itself. Ensure the sensor is not obstructed for optimal performance.
