4. Setup

Before first use, perform the following setup steps:

  1. Unpacking: Remove the generator and all accessories from the packaging. Inspect for any damage.
  2. Add Engine Oil: The generator is shipped without engine oil. Place the generator on a level surface. Remove the oil fill cap/dipstick. Slowly add 0.37 quarts (0.35 liters) of 10W-30 engine oil. Do not overfill. Reinstall the oil fill cap/dipstick.
  3. Add Fuel: Ensure the generator is off and cool. Remove the fuel cap. Fill the fuel tank with fresh, unleaded gasoline (minimum 87 octane). Do not overfill. Securely replace the fuel cap.
  4. Grounding: For safety, connect a ground wire from the generator's ground terminal to an appropriate ground source (e.g., a ground rod).

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Starting the Generator

  1. Ensure the generator is on a level, outdoor surface, away from combustible materials.
  2. Turn the fuel valve to the 'ON' position.
  3. If the engine is cold, move the choke lever to the 'CHOKE' position. If the engine is warm, move it to the 'RUN' position.

  5. Pull the recoil starter handle firmly and steadily until the engine starts.

  7. Once the engine starts, slowly move the choke lever to the 'RUN' position.

5.2 Connecting Electrical Loads

  1. Allow the engine to run for a few minutes to warm up.
  2. Plug in your electrical devices to the appropriate AC or DC outlets. Ensure the total wattage does not exceed the generator's running wattage (1900W).
  3. For optimal fuel efficiency and reduced noise, switch the ECO mode to 'ON'. The engine speed will adjust automatically based on the load.

5.3 Parallel Operation

To increase power output, two identical PowerSmart 2500-Watt Inverter Generators can be connected using a parallel kit (sold separately).

  1. Ensure both generators are off and cool.
  2. Connect the parallel kit cables to the designated parallel ports on both generators.
  3. Start both generators according to the standard starting procedure.
  4. Once both generators are running, you can connect your electrical loads to the outlets on the parallel kit.

5.4 Stopping the Generator

  1. Disconnect all electrical loads from the generator.
  2. Turn the engine switch to the 'OFF' position.
  3. Turn the fuel valve to the 'OFF' position.
