4. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to set up your Moving Head Light:

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the fixture from its packaging. Retain the original packaging for future transport or storage.
  2. Mounting: The fixture can be placed on a flat surface or mounted to a truss using the included mounting bracket and screws. Ensure the fixture is securely fastened and use a safety cable for overhead installations.
  3. Power Connection: Connect the supplied power cord to the 'POWER IN' port on the back of the fixture and then to a suitable 120V AC power outlet.
  4. DMX Connection (Optional): If using DMX control, connect a DMX cable from your DMX controller's output to the 'DMX IN' port on the fixture. For multiple fixtures, daisy-chain them by connecting the 'DMX OUT' of the first fixture to the 'DMX IN' of the next.

5. Operating Modes

The MHL-90 Moving Head Light offers several operational modes, selectable via the LCD display and 4-button menu on the front panel:

  • Auto Mode: The fixture will run through pre-programmed light shows automatically. The speed of these shows may be adjustable.
  • Sound Activated Mode: The light will react to ambient sound or music, changing patterns and colors in sync with the beat. Sensitivity may be adjustable.
  • DMX Mode: This mode allows for professional control of all fixture functions (color, movement, strobe, dimming) using a DMX512 controller. The fixture supports 13 or 15 DMX channels.
  • Master/Slave Mode: Connect multiple MHL-90 fixtures via DMX cables. Set one fixture as 'Master' and the others as 'Slave'. The slave units will then mirror the master unit's operation, ensuring synchronized light shows without a DMX controller.

Use the 'MENU', 'UP', 'DOWN', and 'ENTER' buttons on the control panel to navigate through the settings and select your desired mode.
