5. Setup
5.1 Battery Installation
The YAWV Electric Pruning Shears are designed to be compatible with DeWalt 20V MAX batteries (DCB200, DCB201, DCB203, DCB204, DCB205, DCB206, DCB230, DCB240, DCB246, DCB248, DCBP520, etc.).
- Ensure the pruning shears are switched off.
- Align the battery with the battery slot at the base of the tool.
- Slide the battery into the slot until it clicks securely into place.
- To remove the battery, press the release button on the battery and slide it out.
NOTE: Battery and charger are NOT included with this product.

6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Powering On and Safety Activation
- Insert a charged DeWalt 20V MAX battery.
- Press the power switch to turn on the tool. The LCD display will illuminate.
- To activate the blades, quickly pull the trigger twice. The blades will open.
6.2 Adjusting Cutting Diameter (2 Modes)
The shears offer two cutting diameter modes: 0.8 inch (20mm) and 1.2 inch (30mm).
- While the tool is on and blades are open, press and hold the trigger for 3 seconds to switch between the two modes.
- The blade opening will adjust to indicate the selected mode.

6.3 Pruning Operation
- Position the branch to be cut between the open blades.
- Slowly pull the trigger to close the blades and make the cut. The shears can cut at a rate of 0.5 seconds.
- Release the trigger to open the blades for the next cut.

6.4 Automatic Blade Closure
When you are finished using the tool, press and hold the trigger for 5 seconds. You will hear a series of beeps (beep ~ beep beep beep), and the blades will automatically close and lock for safety.
7. Maintenance
7.1 Cleaning and Lubrication
Regular cleaning and lubrication will extend the life of your pruning shears.
- Ensure the tool is switched off and the battery is removed.
- Use a clean cloth to wipe off sap, dirt, and debris from the blades after each use.
- Apply a few drops of the included lubricating oil to the blade pivot point and along the cutting edge. Operate the blades a few times to distribute the oil.
7.2 Blade Replacement
A replacement SK5 blade is included for when the original blade becomes dull or damaged.
- Ensure the tool is switched off and the battery is removed.
- Using the provided assembly tools, carefully loosen the bolts securing the blade.
- Remove the old blade and replace it with the new SK5 blade, ensuring proper alignment.
- Tighten the bolts securely. Test the blade operation manually before re-inserting the battery.
7.3 Storage
Store the pruning shears in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Ensure the blades are closed and locked, and the battery is removed before storage.
