3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Fiber Preparation

  1. Clean the fiber using an appropriate fiber cleaner and lint-free wipes.
  2. Cleave the fiber using a precision fiber cleaver to achieve a clean, perpendicular end face.

3.2 Fiber Placement and Splicing

Open the splicer lid and carefully place the prepared fibers into the V-grooves. The three-in-one fixture supports various fiber types, including leather wires, jumpers, and bare fibers. The splicer is equipped with LED lighting for convenient fiber pairing in low-light conditions.

Close the lid. The splicer will automatically align the fibers using its core or cladding alignment method and initiate the welding process. The typical welding time for SMF is 8 seconds.

3.3 Heat Shrinkable Sleeve Application

After splicing, place a heat shrinkable sleeve over the splice point and position it in the heat shrinkable tube heating tank. The typical heating time is 18 seconds, with an adjustable range of 0-60 seconds. The splicer supports 20mm, 30mm, 40mm, 50mm, and 60mm sleeves.

3.4 Operating Interface and Functions

The capacitive 5.5-inch touch LCD screen provides a GUI graphical user operation interface. It displays real-time splicing status, battery level, temperature, pressure, and other relevant information. The system supports cloud-based one-key upgrades.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning

  • Electrodes: Regularly clean the electrodes with a cotton swab and alcohol to ensure optimal splicing performance. Replace electrodes when they show signs of wear or excessive contamination.
  • V-Grooves and Clamps: Keep the V-grooves and fiber clamps free from dust and fiber debris. Use a soft brush or compressed air.
  • Screen: Clean the touch screen with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners.

4.2 Battery Care

To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Store the device with a partial charge if not in use for extended periods.

4.3 Software Updates

Periodically check for system updates via the cloud one-key upgrade function to ensure the splicer operates with the latest features and performance enhancements.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1 Splicing Errors

  • High Splice Loss: Check fiber cleave quality, ensure fibers are clean, and inspect electrodes for wear or contamination. Recalibrate arc power if necessary.
  • Fiber Not Aligned: Ensure fibers are correctly seated in the V-grooves. Clean V-grooves and clamps.

5.2 Heating Issues

  • Sleeve Not Shrinking: Verify the heat shrinkable sleeve is correctly positioned in the heating tank. Check heating element functionality.

5.3 Power Issues

  • Device Not Powering On: Ensure the battery is charged or the device is connected to a power source. Check power button functionality.

For persistent issues, refer to the detailed troubleshooting guide in the full product manual or contact customer support.
