  1. Locate the battery compartment on the bottom of the camera unit.
  2. Unscrew the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert one LR44 battery, ensuring correct polarity as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Replace the battery compartment cover and tighten it securely.

The Canonet QL17 GIII features the Quick Load (QL) system for easy film installation.

  1. Open the camera back by pulling down the film rewind knob.
  2. Place a 35mm film cassette into the film chamber on the left side.
  3. Pull the film leader across to the take-up spool on the right. The QL system allows you to simply lay the film leader over the orange mark on the take-up spool.
  4. Close the camera back firmly until it clicks shut.
  5. Advance the film two frames by winding the film advance lever and pressing the shutter button. Check the film counter to ensure it advances.

3. Shutter Speed and Aperture

The Canonet QL17 GIII features a minimum shutter speed of 30 seconds, allowing for long exposure photography. The lens has a maximum aperture of f/1.7, providing excellent low-light performance and shallow depth of field.
