Setup

1. Assembly

1. Attach the Wand: Insert the wand into the main body of the vacuum until it clicks securely into place.
2. Attach the Cleaner Head: Connect your desired cleaner head (e.g., Motorbar cleaner head) to the end of the wand until it clicks.
3. Handheld Configuration: To use as a handheld vacuum, detach the wand and connect an accessory directly to the main body.

2. Charging

• Connect the charger to a power outlet and to the charging port on the vacuum's main body.
• The LED screen will display the battery status during charging.
• For optimal battery life, fully charge the vacuum before first use.

3. Docking Station (Optional)

• The charging dock can be mounted to a wall for convenient storage and charging. Refer to the separate mounting instructions provided with the dock for installation details.
• Once mounted, simply drop the vacuum into the dock for charging.

Operating Instructions

1. Powering On/Off

• To start cleaning, press and hold the power trigger. Release the trigger to stop.

2. Cleaning Modes

The Dyson V11 Extra features an LED display to show current cleaning mode and remaining run time. Use the mode selection button on the display to switch between modes:

• Eco Mode: Provides the longest run time for lighter cleaning tasks.
• Auto/Med Mode: Balances power and run time. When using the Motorbar cleaner head, Auto mode intelligently adapts suction power between carpets and hard floors.
• Boost Mode: Delivers maximum suction for intensive spot cleaning. This mode reduces run time significantly.

3. Using Attachments

Select the appropriate attachment for your cleaning task:

• Motorbar Cleaner Head: For general floor cleaning on carpets and hard floors. Its de-tangling technology helps clear hair from the brush bar.
• Stubborn Dirt Brush: Designed for removing ground-in dirt from coarse carpets and high-traffic areas.
• Combination Tool: Features a wide nozzle and brush for switching between dusting and vacuuming tasks.
• Crevice Tool: Ideal for cleaning in narrow gaps and around edges.
• Mini Soft Dusting Brush: For gentle dusting of delicate surfaces.
• Hair Screw Tool: Specifically designed for removing hair from pet beds, upholstery, and stairs without tangling.
• Fabric and Mattress Tool: For cleaning upholstery, mattresses, and other fabric surfaces.
• Up-top Adaptor: Articulates and locks at different angles for cleaning hard-to-reach high areas.

Maintenance

1. Emptying the Dustbin

1. Ensure the vacuum is disconnected from the charger.
2. Hold the vacuum over a waste bin.
3. Push the red lever on the dustbin downwards to release the bin and empty its contents.
4. Close the dustbin until it clicks securely.

Recommendation: Empty the dustbin when the dirt reaches the MAX fill line to maintain optimal suction.

2. Washing the Filter

The filter should be washed at least once a month, or more frequently with heavy use.

1. Twist the filter counter-clockwise from the top of the main body to remove it.
2. Wash the filter under cold running water until the water runs clear. Do not use detergents.
3. Squeeze and twist the filter to remove excess water.
4. Leave the filter to dry completely for at least 24 hours in a warm, dry place. Do not dry in a tumble dryer, microwave, or near a naked flame.
5. Once completely dry, reattach the filter by twisting it clockwise until it clicks into place.

3. Clearing Blockages

If suction power drops, check for blockages in the cleaner head, wand, and main body inlet.

• Disconnect the vacuum from the charger before checking for blockages.
• Remove any visible obstructions.
• The Motorbar cleaner head features hair removal vanes; however, if hair buildup occurs, it can be manually removed.
