Setup and Assembly

Follow these steps for proper assembly. It is recommended to have two people for assembly.

  1. Unpack and Identify Parts: Carefully unpack all components and lay them out on a soft, clean surface. Refer to the "Package Contents" section to ensure all parts are present.
  2. Assemble the Metal Frame: Connect the metal frame parts according to the diagrams in the included graphical instructions. Ensure all connections are secure but do not fully tighten screws until the frame is complete.
  3. Attach Adjustable Feet: Screw the adjustable feet into the bottom of the frame. Tighten them gently; overtightening can cause the rubber feet to detach.
  4. Install Top Shelf: Place the particleboard top shelf onto the assembled metal frame. Ensure the shelf is oriented correctly, especially if there are pre-drilled holes for securing the laundry bags. Secure the top shelf to the frame using the provided screws.
  5. Prepare Laundry Bags: Insert the plastic bottom panels into the base of each laundry bag to prevent sagging.
  6. Hang Laundry Bags: Attach the laundry bags to the designated rails or hooks on the frame. The bags are designed to be pull-out and removable.
  7. Install Anti-Tip Device: Secure the anti-tip device to the back of the unit and to a sturdy wall stud using the provided hardware. This is a critical safety step.
  8. Final Tightening and Leveling: Once the entire unit is assembled, gently tighten all screws. Adjust the feet to ensure the unit is stable and level on your floor.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Frame and Shelf: Wipe the metal frame and particleboard top shelf with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals that may damage the finish.
  • Cleaning the Laundry Bags: The Oxford fabric bags can be spot cleaned with a mild detergent and water. Allow them to air dry completely before reinserting. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
  • Regular Checks: Periodically check all screws and connections to ensure they remain tight. Retighten if necessary.

Troubleshooting

Issue: Unit is wobbly or unstable.
Solution: Check that all screws are securely tightened. Adjust the leveling feet on the bottom of the frame to compensate for uneven floors. Ensure the anti-tip device is properly installed and secured to a wall.
Issue: Laundry bags sag or do not hold shape.
Solution: Verify that the plastic bottom panels are correctly inserted into the base of each laundry bag. These panels are crucial for maintaining the bag's structure.
Issue: Difficulty sliding bags in and out.
Solution: Ensure the bags are correctly aligned with the rails. Check for any obstructions. If a screw under the tabletop is intended to prevent the hamper from sliding out completely, ensure it is not overtightened or misaligned, which could hinder smooth operation.
Issue: Adjustable feet rubber caps detach.
Solution: When installing the adjustable feet, tighten them only until snug. Overtightening can cause the rubber caps to pop off. If they detach, they can usually be reinserted.
