1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the operation and maintenance of your GOYERRNES Handheld Anemometer, Model GR-5000K. 3. Product Overview

Familiarize yourself with the components and controls of the anemometer.

The anemometer features a 270-degree rotating wind sensor for accurate measurements from various directions. A protective vane cover shields the fan blades from damage.

4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the device.
  2. Use the provided screwdriver to open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert the batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Replace the battery compartment cover and secure it with the screw.

4.2 Initial Power On

Press the Power On/Off button (red button) to turn on the device. The LCD screen will illuminate and display current readings.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Basic Measurement

Hold the anemometer in the desired measurement area. Ensure the rotating sensor is facing the wind direction. The device will automatically display real-time wind speed, temperature, and humidity.

5.2 Unit Switching

Press the UNIT button to cycle through different wind speed units: m/s, km/h, Ft/m, Ft/s, knots, and mph. Press the °C/°F button to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit for temperature readings.

5.3 MAX/MIN/AVG Measurement

Press the MAX/MIN button to view the maximum, minimum, or average wind speed recorded during the current measurement session.

5.4 Data Hold

Press the HOLD button to freeze the current readings on the display. Press it again to release the hold function and resume real-time measurements.

5.5 Backlight

Press the Backlight button (yellow button with light icon) to turn the display backlight on or off, improving visibility in low-light conditions.

5.6 Auto-Off Function

The device features an auto-off function to conserve battery life. If no operation is performed for a certain period, the anemometer will automatically power off. Refer to the full manual for specific timing.

5.7 CFM Calculation

The anemometer can assist in calculating Air Flow in CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) using the formula: Air Flow in CFM = Wind speed x Duct Cross Sectional Area. Ensure you input the correct duct cross-sectional area for accurate CFM results.

5.8 Using the Tripod Hole and Hand Strap

The anemometer includes a tripod screw hole, allowing it to be mounted on a tripod for hands-free operation during measurements. The hand strap provides a secure grip and prevents accidental drops.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the casing or display. Ensure the fan blades are free from dust and debris for accurate readings.

6.2 Storage

When not in use for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage. Store the anemometer in its carrying pouch in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 Device Not Powering On

  • Check if the batteries are installed correctly with the right polarity.
  • Replace with new batteries if the current ones are depleted.

7.2 Inaccurate Readings

  • Ensure the rotating sensor is clean and free from obstructions.
  • Verify that the anemometer is positioned correctly into the wind flow.
  • Check for any physical damage to the fan blades or sensors.

7.3 Display Issues

  • If the display is dim, replace the batteries.
  • If segments are missing or the display is erratic, try removing and reinserting the batteries to reset the device.
