DIANN IP2368 Bidirectional 100W Fast Charging Module

User Manual

1. Introduction

The DIANN IP2368 is a bidirectional 100W fast charging module featuring a Buck-Boost design and a Type-C interface, specifically engineered for 4S lithium battery applications. It integrates the IP2368 main control IC, allowing for a maximum input and output power of 100W. This module offers a bidirectional upgrade voltage function, enabling a fixed 5V or 20V output regardless of battery voltage fluctuations. It incorporates a large 17x17mm inductance for efficient heat dissipation and low heat output. The module includes four LED lights to display the electricity level for both input and output. Its compact size and screw hole power options provide convenient installation without mandatory soldering. Multiple modules can be superimposed for multi-port output or UPS constant power supply configurations.

4. Setup Instructions

  1. Battery Connection: Connect your 4S lithium battery pack to the designated input terminals on the module. The product is defaulted for a 4-string battery pack with a maximum voltage of 16.8V. Warning: Changing to 5 or 6 strings of power supply may cause damage to the voltage regulator triode. Ensure your battery configuration matches the module's default or consult a higher voltage module if needed.
  2. Power Input/Output: The module can be powered via the two screw holes at the end, or through the Type-C interface. The Type-C interface serves for both power input (charging the battery) and power output (supplying power from the battery).
  3. Mounting: The module features mounting holes for secure installation. It can also be superimposed with other modules using copper columns for multi-module setups.
  4. Initial Check: After connecting, observe the four LED lights on the module. These indicate the current electricity level for both input and output operations.

5. Operating Instructions

  • Bidirectional Functionality: The IP2368 module supports bidirectional operation. When a power source is connected to the Type-C port, it will charge the connected 4S lithium battery. When a device is connected to the Type-C port, the module will supply power from the battery to the device.
  • Fast Charging/Discharging: The module supports up to 100W fast charging and discharging, provided the connected power source and load device also support these power levels.
  • Fixed Voltage Output: The module features a bidirectional upgrade voltage function, allowing it to output a fixed 5V or 20V, independent of the connected battery's voltage changes. This is useful for powering devices requiring stable voltage.
  • LED Indicators: The four integrated LED lights provide a visual indication of the battery's charge level during both charging and discharging cycles.
  • Multi-Port Output/UPS: For advanced applications, multiple modules can be connected to a single battery pack to create a multi-port output system or a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) constant power supply.

6. Maintenance

  • Keep Dry: Ensure the module is kept in a dry environment to prevent moisture damage to electronic components.
  • Temperature Control: Avoid exposing the module to extreme temperatures, both high and low, to maintain optimal performance and longevity.
  • Inspect Connections: Periodically check all electrical connections for tightness and signs of corrosion or wear.
  • Cleaning: If necessary, gently clean the module with a soft, dry brush or cloth. Do not use liquids or abrasive cleaners.
  • Ventilation: Ensure adequate airflow around the module, especially during high-power operation, to facilitate heat dissipation from the inductor.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Module Not Powering On / No Output:
    • Verify that the 4S lithium battery is properly connected and charged.
    • Check all wiring connections for secure contact and correct polarity.
    • Ensure the input power source (if charging) is active and providing sufficient voltage/current.
  • Slow Charging / Discharging:
    • Confirm that both the power source (for charging) and the connected device (for discharging) support 100W fast charging/discharging protocols.
    • Use a high-quality Type-C cable rated for 100W power delivery.
    • Check the battery's health and capacity.
  • Overheating:
    • Ensure the module has adequate ventilation and is not enclosed in a confined space.
    • Reduce the load if operating continuously at maximum power.
    • Verify that the input/output current does not exceed the module's specifications.
  • LED Indicators Not Functioning:
    • Check if the module is receiving power.
    • If the module is otherwise functional, this may indicate a minor component issue not affecting core functionality.

8. Warranty and Support

This DIANN IP2368 module comes with a 2-month warranty from the date of purchase. This warranty covers manufacturing defects under normal use conditions.
