1. Introduction

The Ubiquiti UC-CAST-US Display Cast is a compact device designed to transform any HDMI-compatible television display into a managed digital signage unit. 2. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your Ubiquiti UC-CAST-US Display Cast:

1. Connect to Display: Plug the UC-CAST-US device into an available HDMI port on your television or display.
2. Power the Device: The device can be powered in two ways:
   • Power over Ethernet (PoE): Connect an Ethernet cable from a PoE-enabled switch or injector to the "PoE IN" RJ45 port on the UC-CAST-US.
   • USB-C Adapter: Alternatively, connect a 5V DC, 1A USB-C power adapter (not always included, check package contents) to the USB-C port.
3. Network Connection: Ensure the device has network connectivity. If using PoE, network is provided via the Ethernet cable. If using USB-C power, ensure the device is connected to a Wi-Fi network (configuration via UniFi Connect).
4. UniFi Connect Integration: Access your UniFi Connect application to discover and manage the newly connected Display Cast device. Follow the on-screen instructions within UniFi Connect to complete the setup and assign content playlists.

3. Operating Instructions

The Ubiquiti UC-CAST-US Display Cast is managed through the UniFi Connect application. Once set up, it will automatically display content assigned to it.

• Content Management: Use the UniFi Connect application to create and manage multimedia playlists. These playlists can include various forms of digital content such as images, videos, and web pages.
• Playlist Assignment: Assign specific playlists to your UC-CAST-US device(s) within the UniFi Connect interface. The device will then retrieve and display the content according to the playlist schedule.

• No Display Output:
  • Verify the HDMI cable is securely connected to both the Display Cast and the TV.

  • Check if the device is receiving power (Status LED should be active).
• Device Not Appearing in UniFi Connect:
  • Confirm network connectivity (Ethernet or Wi-Fi).
  • Ensure the UniFi Connect application is up-to-date and running correctly.
  • Try restarting the UC-CAST-US device by disconnecting and reconnecting power.
• Content Not Updating:
  • Check the network connection of the device.
  • Verify the playlist assignment and schedule within UniFi Connect.
  • Ensure the content files are valid and accessible.
• Regional Compatibility: Be aware that different regional versions of the product may have specific firmware or power adapter requirements. Ensure your device is compatible with your region's standards. For example, a "US" model is designed for US power and firmware.
• Resetting the Device: If issues persist, locate the Reset button (refer to Figure 2) and use a paperclip to press and hold it for approximately 5-10 seconds until the device restarts. This will restore factory default settings.
