5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

The main unit and wireless sensors require batteries (not included).

  1. Main Unit: Open the battery compartment on the back of the main unit. Insert 3 x AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the compartment.
  2. Wireless Sensors: Open the battery compartment on the back of each wireless sensor. Insert 2 x AA batteries into each sensor, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the compartment.

Note: It is recommended to install batteries in the main unit first, then in the sensors, to facilitate automatic pairing.

5.2 Sensor Placement

For optimal performance, consider the following when placing your wireless sensors:

  • Place outdoor sensors in a shaded area, away from direct sunlight and rain, to ensure accurate readings and prolong battery life. Although IPX4 waterproof, extreme weather exposure should be minimized.
  • Ensure the sensors are within the 330ft (100m) wireless range of the main unit. Walls, metal objects, and electronic devices can reduce the effective range.
  • Avoid placing sensors near heat sources (e.g., vents, appliances) or cold sources (e.g., refrigerators).

5.3 Mounting Options

The main unit can be placed on a tabletop using its integrated kickstand or mounted on a wall using the hanging hole on its back.
