Installation Guide

Tools Required:

• Phillips Head Screwdriver
• Measuring Tape
• Pencil
• Drill (optional, for new door installations)

Step-by-Step Installation:

1. Prepare the Door: Ensure your door has the correct bore holes (typically 2-1/8 inches for the knob and 1 inch for the latch). Adjust the latch backset if necessary (2-3/8 inches or 2-3/4 inches).
2. Install the Latch Bolt: Insert the latch bolt into the door edge, ensuring the "UP" arrow (if present) faces upwards. Secure it with screws.
3. Install Exterior Assembly: Feed the cable and spindle through the latch bolt hole from the exterior side of the door. Ensure the exterior knob is flush against the door.
4. Install Interior Mounting Plate: Align the interior mounting plate over the spindle and cable, securing it to the exterior assembly with screws.
5. Connect Interior Assembly: Connect the cable from the exterior assembly to the interior assembly. Carefully tuck the excess cable into the door.
6. Install Interior Assembly: Place the interior knob assembly onto the mounting plate, aligning the screw holes. Secure it with the remaining screws.
7. Install Strike Plate: Install the strike plate on the door frame, aligning it with the latch bolt.
8. Test Operation: Test the mechanical operation of the knob by turning it. Ensure the latch retracts smoothly.
9. Install Batteries: Open the battery cover on the interior assembly and insert 4 AAA batteries (not included), observing polarity.

Operation

Keypad Operation:

• Unlock: Enter your 4-8 digit user code followed by the '#' key. The lock will beep and unlock.
• Lock: Press any key on the keypad for 2 seconds, or simply wait for auto-lock if enabled.
• Add User Code: Refer to the app instructions for adding new user codes.

Fingerprint Access:

• Enroll Fingerprint: Use the mobile app to enroll new fingerprints. Follow the on-screen prompts for multiple scans of the same finger.
• Unlock: Place your enrolled finger firmly on the fingerprint sensor. The lock will beep and unlock if the fingerprint is recognized.

App Control:

The HEI LIANG Smart Door Knob can be controlled via a dedicated mobile application. Download the app from your smartphone's app store (search for "HEI LIANG Smart Lock" or scan the QR code provided in the quick start guide).

Maintenance

Battery Replacement:

The lock will provide a low battery warning (e.g., indicator light, audible beep). Replace all four AAA batteries promptly to ensure continuous operation. Always use new, high-quality alkaline batteries.
