5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Charging Batteries

  1. Connect Battery: First, connect the balance connector of your battery to the charger's balance port. Then, connect the main power connector (e.g., XT60) to the charger's main output port.
  2. Select Profile: The ISDT 608PD supports 5 preset battery types and parameters. Use the navigation buttons to select the appropriate charging profile for your battery (e.g., 2S, 4S, 6S LiPo).
  3. Start Charging: Confirm the settings on the display and initiate the charging process. The charger will display real-time charging status, including voltage, current, and temperature.
  4. Completion: The charger will beep when the charging cycle is complete. Press the middle button to place the device into standby, then safely disconnect the battery.

5.2. Discharging Batteries (Power Bank Mode)

The ISDT 608PD can act as a power bank using its bidirectional USB-C port. This feature can be used to discharge batteries to a storage voltage.

  1. Connect Battery: Connect your LiPo battery (e.g., 4S or 6S) to the XT60 port on the charger.
  2. Connect Device: Plug your USB-C device (e.g., phone, laptop) into the USB-C port of the ISDT 608PD.
  3. Set Minimum Voltage: The charger may prompt you to set a minimum battery voltage. Adjust this value to your desired storage voltage (e.g., 3.80V per cell). The charger will stop outputting power when the battery reaches this voltage.
  4. Monitor: Monitor the discharge process. Once the desired voltage is reached, disconnect the battery. It is recommended to then connect the balance lead to verify individual cell voltages are balanced for storage.
